There are several things bad with your specs. 2GB RAM is definitely not enough for Vista. Vista hogs memory. I recommend upgrading to Windows 7 if you have Vista. I still have Windows XP. Your GHz is terrible. Slow processor speed is bad.
Upgrading the specs and removing vista will greatly help.
I can play the game on highest graphics and sound settings with these specs. I never lag or crash.
Windows XP Home
3GB RAM
Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40 GHz
ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT
500GB HDD
DSL High Speed Internet Connection

Could you post some system temperatures? Your video card might be overheating and causing the crash. I prefer Everest Ultimate (they have a free edition for download as well) to monitor system temperatures. If you could post the temperatures while playing Guild Wars that would be very helpful.
Your computer is abit "under powered" for gaming in Vista, but not to the point of making a game along the lines of GW crash.... of course viruses and other factors may or may not be involved as well.
One more thing, what Power Supply do you have?

I ran some temp checks last week and it was normal,Im not sure where to check for powersupply Im not very computer savy,I play games that are more intense than guild wars and they run fine....wow for example.I am in the process of repairing my other cpu but it requires money which i cant spare atm so Id like to get this one running gw right, and also I ran gw fine before I moved but i installed all the disc when i did and now im runnin the client with no discs and having the issues

the power supply would be the box in the top left corner of the case as you open it (in a typical setup at least). It should have info there on a sticker, the brand name and model, the amount of total watts, the amount of amps on the +12volt rail(s) as well as other things.

Open your task manager, and to go your GW process, and set the affinity to only cores 0 and 1. I was having the same problem you were and that fixed it.

Hey Whats the age of you rvideo card similair issue started with me leading to my video card crashing. and 2gb for vist is jsut enough but for 32 bit ur gonna wanna max to 3.2gb(go 4gb 32bit only reads 3.2) but how old is your card and is the inside of your comp clean? good air flow?
shadowrising
the inside of the pc is clean I clean it every other day,and the video card is roughly a year old, also the affinity is already set to cores 0 and 1 I can try it with just 1 of them on

1. Make sure Windows and your drivers are up to date. If for some reason you can't update your Windows through Windows Update, try downloading the updates from the MS download site, or....
2. Try setting the affinity to only one core. If that works, consider using a app such as ForceCore to automatically set the affinity (it needs to be set every time). or....
3. Your graphics card may be dieing.
4. Roll back any overclocks.

It may be my vid card, not sure yet though all the tests come back fine, and how do I change the overclock?

If you have to ask that question, I doubt that you have overclocked anything, because you would just undo whatever overclocking you did.
If someone else overclocked your cpu or video card for you, slap them upside the head and tell them to set it back to stock.
I know you said the inside is clean, but did you check that any and all fans are working inside. There could be fans on the CPU (processor), the GPU (video card), the front/rear/side/top of the case, on the motherboard chipset, and/or in the power supply. (It's safe to run the computer with the side off to check.)

I checked all the fans they are working properly,I ran guild wars before with no issues so it may be my video card, are there any tests I can perform to check it or just wait for it to burn out

what temperatures are you hitting with the video card under load???
