Hey all!

Cause of insane ping during last days( update didnt help. My ping is red 24/7) I have decided to reinstall my gw. So i have uninstalled old one( from control panel) and copied backed up GW folder.( client is 3.7 gb) Shortcut or Image Updater dont recognize DAT file. Whenever I click on them, they wanna start new full gw donwload. Its like 3.9 gb... I cant use my backed up file. Shrotcut with "image" command downloads 118000 files instead of 400( last updates I have backed gw up in september). Seems like GW dat with 3.7 gb doesnt exist? Are there any ways to fix this? I cant wait for 4 days to DL Gw Dat again ><

Thx all!

You may not have any choice. Try doing a -repair ..... but if it takes you 4 days to download gw.dat, that will probably be pretty time consuming as well, depending on how bad of shape you are in.

just a tip for next time.

removing the dat from your hard drive then just putting it back won't make your internet<>server latency better.

sounds crazy, i know.

What Gifted said... this isn't going to help your internet latency at all.

Reinstalling Guild Wars will not help your lag. It only usually works on corrupted images. If you have been getting lag for that long, I think it is a problem on your side. Call your ISP and tell them to test your connection.

You didn't say how old you backup was. If it's old enough, GW may need to download a lot of files whether the gw.dat is "recognized" or not.
At any rate, next time, first just do a "-repair" or "-image" without uninstalling the game.
