An merchant idea for Anet

If someone likes this, could they perhaps suggest this on the wiki where Anet listens?


Anyways I was thinking, a lot of people don't like buying stuff from the ingame store simply because the NCsoft accounts have security questions. So I was thinking, maybe Anet could partner up with someone more trustworthy like amazon.com or some other online stores. You qould buy the item there, such as a character slot or the dwayna outfit. Amazon or whoever sends you an email with a code that'll activate whatever you bought and you can add it to your account as you would if you bought a something in retail.

That way you can make purchases and never have to worry about NCsoft's weak security causing you to lose all the items and gold you've accumulated on your characters. Plus it's all online so it wouldn't take all that long and you'd never have to bother with running out to the store only to find they don't carry that.

That's the idea. Good, bad, or something else?

Anet won't do it unless the partner site did so for free. Why would any site provide that service for free? And I certainly wouldn't pay extra at a different site simply for security, I'd just not buy.

/notsigned, simple reason tbh i hate amazon, and i dont think anet want to pay out any more money just for advertisement. When you log in to Guild Wars the option is there anyway so there isnt much point

Anet charges the same elsewhere takes a little less profit on the partner site in return it gets more sales than it would have to begin with. I mean why should I risk losing my Sword of 42 Truths uber-rare teal drop (it's 42 so it can't be green) for an increased possibility some hacker can nab it.

In game store is good enough but I don't wanna link my account to PlayNC.

I'd like them to fix the security so that this is a mute point...


but if that's not possible just make it so you don't have to link accounts to buy and just have them email you a cd key or something...sadly my main 2 accounts are already linked QQ
