Sorry for the length of this post, but well, I'm ticked...
I've been playing guildwars for over 3 years, and have never had any kind of account suspension, or warning, or anything.
This evening, on the start of a weekend, and the start of wintersday, I logged on to discover I have a 72 hour suspension for "offensive behavior". No other description was offered.
Generally, I am not above getting in the occasional flame war with someone, but it has never escalted to any significant extent, and I have not been in any petty war of words with anyone recently.
The only thing I can think of is that I had a spammer suspended earlier this week. He officially scammed me and one other player, we both sent support screen shots of the incident, and he was suspended. Perhaps this was some sort of undeserved revenge perpetrated by him on another account, or his friends? I am under the current assumption that I have been wrongly accused by, and wrongly suspended because of, a suspended confirmed scammer.
This is very distressing, as I said, to happen at the start of the first weekend of wintersday. I have sent support an email asking for any information as to why I was suspended, but being the weekend I don't know that I'll get a response until after the weekend and the ban are over.
Do I have any recourse? Reading the FAQ's on NCSoft support, it says that they do not send details of the suspension via email. Is there anything I can do? Any help or advice would, obviously, be very appreciated.
Thank you
There is no perfect emoticon for this, so I will choose

It may be the result of your reporting the scammer, because A-Net does review chat logs to determine what action(s) should be taken. If they found that in the course of the scamming incident that you made some inappropriate comments in chat, that would trigger a suspension. Just the other day someone came here and said they got their account suspended for an inappropriate name because it happend to be the character they were on when they reported someone for something.
That being said, there's nothing anyone here can do for you other than advise you that when dealing with support, be polite, courteous, and as forthcoming as possible.

For starters, my email to support was very polite. I'm no fool. Being a jerk to them won't help me solve anything...
As far as the scammer incident causing me to be banned...
1. I received email confirmation that his account had been banned this past Monday or Tuesday, and I was banned Friday evening.
2. I realized very early on in the ordeal that I had most likely been scammed, and that I would be taking screen shots to send to support. I made absolutely sure that I didn't act inappropriately.
I've been trying to figure out when the last time I got into a "You're a NOOB!...No YOU'RE a NOOB!" battle, and it's been maybe 2 weeks. (and for the record, that guy WAS a noob!)
Thanks for the reply though. Assuming support never gets back to me, please save me some fruitcakes.

While I can offer nothing other than sympathy I'd like to state that last year, I was unfairly banned for 3 days over Christmas when I had done nothing, not even reported a scammer... so perhaps this is anet's present to random people?

Dude, your dealing with Anet, what do you expect. They are kids policing kids.
Your playing a game with no subscription cost, meaning they already have your money.
They don't care about you anymore.
You can get banned for any reason at all, or no reason at all for that matter, and you can't do shit about it.

42 hours into a 72 hour suspension, and no reply back from support yet. This is incredibly inconsiderate.

It is the weekend, after all. What did you expect? 24 hour service from support for a no subscription game?
