Ability To Change Character Type?
FrOzEnMaGe
Hello,
This is just an idea/suggestion to have the ability to change character type [main class] via the online store? it'll be worth the $9.99 more than anything else on there.
after so many hours put into one character for lets say character-based titles, its hard to be motivated to start/play anything else.. especially if the titles aren't finished.
I just think its a good idea and should be considered.

Even better:
$9.99 every time you want to change your character's attribute spread.
Or $10 for every Cap Sig you buy in game with gold and skill points.
Or $150 for every exotic animal you want to tame, hey those permits cost money!
Or $0.10 per experience point gained.
Or $0.01 per second you spend on this waste of a game.
Or $2 per monster you kill. Hunting Licenses are expensive too.
Or $5000 per ecto you pickup, then ANet deletes your account. Then you have to buy another account, just for the fun! Yay! Would give new meaning to "prestige" armor, as only Bill Gates and the Shah of Iran would be walking around in it.
Huzzah for the slippery slope that is micro transactions...

Reduce the grind for titles so that we can finally go back to playing the game with multiple guys.
But then again, I can see why your suggestion would be much more appealing to A.Net.

I wouldn't use it. But I don't see a reason why not to add this.
Trader of Secrets
I dont see this being added, and the game already gives you enough character slots to make other professions.

one of the most absolutely terrible ideas i've ever heard.
not only is the concept bad, changing the class of a character? that's what character slots are for, if you're dying to hand your cash over to anet, buy a character slot and spend the 3 hours getting a new character to level 20. or just delete your current and make a new one. you can change literally everything else about your character except your primary profession. come on, you can't be that lazy and indecisive.
aside from the idea itself being atrocious, for everyone who thinks microtransactions are effecting the game and the community in any positive way whatsoever, i should slap each and every one of you.

Who ever said you can only play 1 character?
Titles were added as something "EXTRA" for people to do not something you have to do.
I guess they are damned if they do and damned if they don't.
"not enough things to do, I'm bored blah blah blah" or "OMG everything is so much work blah blah blah"
It's hard to believe how much people complain about stupid sh1t...

stop QQ about your titles if you REALLY need that pick-me-up the titles give in the morning, then you need to go see a shrink about that. but if you are talking about the skill effecting titles( lb, ss, eotn), grind away or be creative and find a build that doesn't use those skills.
If you actually wanted that new char so badly you would be willing to take a character slot to do it. the whole point of playing the game with the new char is to see if you like playing the class/ and whether that class fits your play style. taking an already maxed character and switching it to what you want will only waste everything you put into that char( or another 9.99) if you end up hating mesmers for instance.

without them most people wouldn't be playing. Character Slots = Micro Transactions... etc etc etc. Who would pay to duplicate their account by buying a complete pack again when theres 10 bucks for another slot.
Lmao. Slap me while you are at it then, guess Me and many others deserve it for being practical.

/facepalm
Talk about fools.
Just for the record, and for those who can't read between the lines, no my account did not get hacked, I'm simply illustrating the slippery slope that is "micro-transactions" especially when a company defines "micro" as 1/5th the purchase price of a full game, and what's even worse is there's actually a small population of extremely gullible players who buy into it.
Sad really.

I don't think you understand, son. Five of those store items are just as much content, and took just as much effort to create, as the game itself.

Character slot - $9.99
Costumes - $9.99
Makeover pack - $9.99
name change - $14.99
(1) Xunlai storage pane - $9.99
Grand total - $54.95
So let me get this straight. You're saying the time and effort required to develop the above five items took AS MUCH effort as developing Prophecies? As in, the areas, five classes, skills, items, etc.?
You might want to check the condescending, pandering tone at the door, especially when making certifiably insane claims as you did.
Just... wow.
Zahr Dalsk
Of course. That's why ArenaNet is charging those prices. Making things like that is hard; it requires a lot of effort to create that stuff. And it's all optional. No one's making you do it.

I like the idea, but at this point in the game it would be to awkward to put in. Maybe in GW2 they might do something like it.

Poorly thought out idea.
You considered that not all armor types are available for classes right? What happens to any armor the char is wearing?
And if your chars skill points are too low and you have to pay 1k per skill? You'll just screw yourself into a corner /w a *service* like that.
Yes, I'm one of the unfortunate souls that got caught in the title grinding trap, and yes, char based titles where an utter **** idea from the start, I'm at the point where choosing a char for any activity is decided solely by the rank of whatever related title the char is trying to grind, not to mention barely touching my primary except for alcahol, party, and sweet point consumption.
But it's not something that a class change will fix.
