Prepaid cards?
Zuiwatch
Does NCsoft store or in game store accept prepaid mastercards or visa cards? I don't want to buy one and find out I can't use it. Also, I live in Canada, so if anyone has done this before, please tell me what type of card worked for you.

I am not sure about this. I don't see anything on Plaync's website that says you can't.
As long as the transaction approves, you can. The best thing you can do about this matter is to ask them: http://help.ncsoft.com/cgi-bin/ncsof...p_sid=9yjjlQuj

Thank you, I will try that. I sure hope they will answer.

Let me know if it works if you decide to go through with it. I was going to buy a prepaid visa card but if it doesn't work...

Yes they do. About a year ago I made a few in-game store purchases /w a pre-paid card I got as a rebate from CompUSA.

I've made many purchases with a Visa giftcard, works like a charm.

I was going to make a topic asking this exact question. Where are Visa giftcards sold? My local 7eleven has all these prepaid cards that are mainly for these MMOs that I've never heard of, but some of them say they work for a lot of games.

What do you put in the "name" field when you put in your card info? Does it matter? Can it be done through the ingame store or just the NCSoft site?
Gennadios
Doubt it matters, whatever is written in the name section of the card should be entered as the card holder, otherwise your own name if there's no name slot.
I used ingame store. NCSoft website I won't come near, for well publicized reasons.

Visa and Mastercard pre -paid work fine
Use the drop down arrow to select the correct card then enter the card details.
I have used a pre pay since they stopped accepting Maestro for Guild Wars..even though its acceptable for Aion.
Many places now sell this type of card as it avoids credit check as its pre-pay
But for me if its stolen then not a lot to loose as I only use it for certain things
just ensure you read the small print on there surcharge for using it.I can top up free and charge is 1% per transaction

For a pre-paid card I doubt that it matters, since there's no name on it. Edit: On the other hand, if it says something like "A Gift For You", it wouldn't hurt to put that in. (as below)
Pre-paid cards can be used in the GW in-game store. The types of cards accepted may vary depending upon what region you are in. In the America region I know that VISA and Mastercard pre-paids work.
Note: the cards you see in 7-eleven are for a Prophecies campaign (the game on a card basically), not for use as cash in the store, like a WoW or iTunes card. (unless, ofc, they've added something new. )

I have used a pre-paid Visa before in the store. The name to use for the card is usually what's on it, and I believe that was "A Gift For You". It worked fine.
