Shield Classes

Only the physical classes (warrior,paragon,dervish,ranger,assassin) should be able to wield a shield.
First of all shields look pretty silly on casters in my opinion.
And casters are ment to be fragile and weak so they shouldn't be able to wield a shield cause they don't got the physical strength required to wield one.

if casters want to give up their offhand energy for a little armor, they can. they pay a price for the extra armor.

Casters are not as physical as physical classes, but they are not necessarily weak. Never heard of Battlemages?

Most of the times they come in heavy armor , battlemage in guildwars would be something like a w/e

Interrupt, interrupt, rage about the other team cheating, leave.

Why wouldn't a caster be able to carry a shield it has a handle on it.

ZOMG 8 extra armor on a monk who is giving up the 20/20 on his offhand...
or ZOMG a monk who gave up 28+ attribute points and the 20/20 on his offhand for 15/16 extra armor...o noes...

Its not as though there aren't disadvantages that casters have to face in order to use a shield...

Sins shouldnt have scythes, because they are big, and would slow them down. They shouldnt have bows because those are too obvious/bulky for a ninja.

This game was build on the variety in having secondary professions and the like. Don't like it, play around it. Counter it.

i really do not understand why this thread was made..cant kill a monk in pvp that has a shield? lol... o.O

Pretty sure there's no such thing in GW. There is such a thing as a Warrior Monk, but it's certainly not a battlemage. Maybe you're thinking of this or this.

But really, you can't think of any other reason to disallow other classes to carry shields other than you don't think it looks good? Sorry, but you've got to have a better reason to change something other than, "I don't like it," or, "it doesn't fit with the lore," for the suggestion to be valid in this forum.
