GW community still active?

hey all, just wondering how active the GW community is now and if it'll be worth buying though GW2 is on the horizon. I tried it out a while ago with a trial account and thought the game was fun but the person who got me to try went inactive i think lol.

anyway thought i'd pick it up but i don't wanna do it if most ppl stopped playing, i think solo play is boring.

GW2 isn't coming until 2011, so don't worry about that.

As to game population, some areas are more dense than others. The population is spread over 3 games and an expansion now, so smaller out of the way places (especially in Prophecies) won't have many people in them.

However, note that a lot of people have been playing for ages and don't have the patience for new players. Often they'll just take AI henchmen instead of you for missions (since they'll probably be better than you), but you can get around this by having a good guild or finding other new people on the forums.

Anyway, GW isn't expensive now, so you can buy a campaign and play through that, and if you like it you can start buying the rest as well.

GW2 isn't really close close, lol. gw is still fairly active. not near it's glory days, but still exciting and active enough for new players to enjoy best way to enjoy the game is to join an active guild so that u can make new friends to play with all the time ;-)

The people whining that the game is dead are prolly the peeps who played the game from when it first came out. There is no shortage of players, best bet is join a decent guild if you wanna do quests & missions with other people!

Ps. I bet half the people saying game is dead have logged on during Wintersday, a wee bit FAIL imho!

Low end PvE is dead, and high end PvP is dead.
