Bloody Dominator
I dont know if this is the right place to ask this, but: our guild is rather small atm and i was trying to recruit a bit. But i seem to have trouble finding ppl and if i do find some1 they leave after a day. So i was wondering if u guys had some tips, good places or anything that could help me recruit/ find more ppl.

If I were joining a guild and deciding to stay this is what turns me away the most:I
1) People spamming guild chat for help with an easy NM mission or Price check or selling something.
2) 10 officers, 50 members ~3 people that are actually online...
3) 30 or so people on, ask if anyone wants to (HA, Speed Clear, etc etc) no one saying anything. Not even a "sorry busy" or "mabye later".
4) no vent.
5) an abundance of newer players asking questions.
6) an abundance of kids laughing at the several your mom jokes being posted.
Tips:
1) set up a vent
2) recruit people with experience (have actually beaten a campaign)
3) be active talk to the guildies ask if they want to do anything (not missions but something more rewarding and team oriented ex. HA, GvG, DoA, Urgoz etc)
4) Don't be afraid to kick people

5) If you have in game or real life friends who play GW, see if they are interested in being part of the core of your new guild. That way you'll have people you know will stick around and help run things.

Your best bet is to have a very active core. Basically a leader and at least 3 officers that are not only on daily, but actually group for stuff on a regular basis and actually send announcements over GC to give people a chance to join in.
Even then, you're only about 20% likely to be able to retain any given recruit.
The truth is, the majority of current players suck.
80% of the experienced players suck because they're really only there to use guild services. The rest of their time will be spent AFK or solo farming. On the other hand, Soon as they're in, you get a semi-permanently online brick in the roster. They'll stick /w the guild forever.
80% of people in general will never say a word and leave in a few days. Sometimes they'll stick around as long as a week. My guild even tried an extensive vetting process where we actually tried recruits out in various HM venues. They were decent players, they knew our skills well enough that they *should* have trusted us to join or invite us into whatever they were doing, but they just stayed dead silent, never joined in anything after, and left.
80% of new players will get bored of the game and go dormant permanently after less than a month.
At this rate, unless you're looking for a miserably bloated guild that's just a massive conveyor belt recruiting useless noobs and kicking after a month of inactivity so they can recruit more useless noobs, you're better off just trying to get a core of 5-6 ppl and only really working on replacing those once life forces GW to the bottom of their priorities lists.

Try to create a family type atmosphere. People often stay in guilds when they feel welcome. I've been an officer in a few small guilds over the past 4 years. Not to flame on KISS and SICK or any other major guild/alliance, but people that join your guild only because its huge sometimes aren't the best people to invite.
Try inviting brand new players. Give them all individual attention but not so much that they have to rely on you for everything. Give them enough of a running start to make somethign of themselves. Then invite some old-school players that have been around awhile. Find 1 or 2 that excells as a member and has intentions of staying and make them officers. Most people that have hung around the game long enough to be considdered old-school will stick to a guild for a while to see how it turns out.
Intermediate players are the hardest to recruit. Mid-range players join and leave guilds on a daily basis. They join and as soon as everyone logs off for the night they leave.

Recruit in a sensible place. If you're a hardcore PvE guild, recruit in DoA or Umbral. If you're a Kurz faction guild, recruit in Eternal Grove. If you're a dungeon based guild, recruit in Doomlore Shrine. If you're HA recruit in HA. Catch my drift? Then there's the general tips:
1: Set a time limit to be offline without good answer before kicking.
2: Organise events and competitions to keep people active.
etc. etc. It's all written above me.
