Matching Shields Needed!

Hi folks, had a quick squiz, couldn't find anything on the subject, so.

Basically, the eternal shield matches with the eternal blade, very nice! IMHO, a Chaos Shield and Obsidian Shield are kinda missing from the equation. Honestly, has anyone ever tried to find a shield that really matches those 2?

Just a thought. Feel free to add.

I'm guessing you mean a shield that matches a Chaos Axe and Obsidian Edge?
Tormented Shield goes perfectly with those two imo.

I do like Torm shields, and whilst they don't look too bad with Chaos or Ob, they don't match perfectly the way that the Eternals do, obviously as they were made for each other. The Tormented Sword/Axe+Shield combo, unfortunately is the single best reason for not using either, as it looks "Matched" Whereas the other combo's are still random-looking in comparison.

I couldn't help noticing that last night in a group with a War who was carrying an eternal set. Looked great, and I really couldn't help but think that the logical path would be actual matching shields for the aforementioned weapons..

new skins can't be added to the game while the economy is nonexistant.

look at that shitty dhuum scythe. anything new is just stacks and stacks of ectos for crap that's just a pain to get.

also if every nice weapon skin had an identical looking shield it'd be stupid.

Whilst I agree that the economy is broken, that's more a result of the fact that skins are just skins, offering no real benefit over a crafter item. Games like NwN with weapons that actually are different, generally don't suffer from the economy problems GW does, as the stats are so much more important than the skin.

Identical items are synergy, if only on an aesthetic level, but synergy is synergy, and synergy is rarely ever stupid.

i think a good way to do it would just remove the non match skins from the game

This has been suggested many times for various weapon sets such as zodiac, whether they be swords and shields, or wands and offhands. Agreed, there was little thought about asthetics when some skins were created and hopefully, since they have ignored this in gw1, we will see a bit more of a match in gw2. However, I am always up for /Signing this type of thread in the hopes that a few more might be added for one of their quarterly, *cough*, updates. IE Zodiac spears, scythes and offhands, and anything else others would like to see, match better.

Thats by far the best argument in this thread. Wait....there is no argument. Nevermind.

Anyway, /signed. Seems logical that there should be more matching sets of weapons and shields.

May I suggest Darkwing Defender.. Looks decent if you just color like the weapon. Also Aureate Aegis has many dye options.

While we're at it.. Make a Chaos Armor..

Oh, I really misread the first post. This is just a horrible idea then. For now, I'd rather have them release at least a demo of GW2, balance PvP*cough* mirror of ice *cough*, then make PvE at least just a little bit difficult. There are so many weapons and shields already, just pick a combination of 2 that you like.
