Kamadan is amazing today and yesterday

I love 6k ping, taking minutes to load in and out of kamadan. Wasn't this problem fixed a week ago?

The lag in Kamadan is ridiculous.
I have moved my GW trading business to LA until the stupid event is over.

So yeah if you are really having issues post it with more detail in the Technician thread, where you are likely to get help, instead of more "QQ" and "ANet sux" posts. |

It's a legitimate complaint. I went in last night to see what the trade channel was like and found myself red dotted 6-8k ping while everything else seems to be fine. Not a computer or ISP issue it's something on Anet's end otherwise it would be everywhere.
Windf0rce
Weird. I never experienced this and I am in Kamadan a lot.

Yes, it is crazy at times. I go to the quiet dists rather, but often you get dumped in d1 and then you're RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOed.
It's those damn snow flakes, I tell ya!

I normally run right around 120 ping. its almost stuck at 120. but yesterday in EotN and Spamadan it was jump right into the stratosphere 10k+.
I can sympathize with people upset over it but......well what ya gonna do?
In EotN they seemed to keep the districts capped at a pretty low number. i dont know if that has any bearing but it was a thought.

lag has nothing to do with computer specs.....lots of people are experiencing it currently, who normally have no issues.
Yes lagdan is the worst right now, but eye is also pretty slow---I dc'd from it once today and once yesterday (never loaded after about 5 minutes).....{and hubby had it crash his computer completely.(yes that is a computer issue).}

just to confirm with everyone yes its a known issue and has been happening strangely only in certain districts of kamadan and eotn since the wintersday started so i lol at people trying to diss folk by saying get a new pc and internet considering this time the lag happen's to everyone in the affected districts and ranges from 2-20k pings no matter where people are from and what there pcs/internet are/is anyways best option is to switch districts intill you find a good one and wtb punctuation
stanzhao
yeah! after 4 years this is definatley the year when anet finally listens!

The solution to much of this problem: Allow more than just the 3 town in the travel-ship. Let us warp directly into ANY capitol town via boat. This lets the through-traffic bypass Kama.
Enko
seems like its just the american ones. asia and europe servers don't have the lag spikes.
afya
eotn is horrible too

Now that I got the sarcasm out of my system - like most everyone else the best I get is 2000 ping. Just went From Lions Arch to Kamadan to look for Nicholas and was stuck there. Actually took about 3 mins for "m" to bring up the map, and never was able to map to Camp Hojanu - had to shut down and restart the game.
EternalTempest
I've notice really bad lag in Eyes of the North where as soon as I get in to may Hall of monuments goes away.
Zehnchu
you can always try the test computer on the log on screen
DRGN
Yeah, this has NOTHING to do with the players. Regina even acknowledged a while back that Kamadan was having lag issues(which I applaud her for doing). Unfortunately, I can't applaud the lack of fixing. I've also noticed this is American districts in EotN.
I don't know why the knee jerk reaction of so many people is "YOUR COMPUTER SUCKS YOUR INTERNET SUCKS YOU SUCK ANET'S SERVERS ARE INFALLIBLE", as opposed to "The servers might be lagging during an event, which explains why it only happens in certain districts".

Festival City = Lagfest. It's been that way since the first Halloween event in Lion's Arch way back on 2005. It's a server-side issue and always has been. (This Friday, be grateful that the finale prezzies go straight into inventories and not dumped on the ground like in days of yore!)
PREDICTION: When Cantha New Year rolls around, someone will make a thread here complaining about the lag in Shing Jea Monestary.

Disconnects and error logs all day yesterday only when trying to zone to Spamadon. Kinda sucked

Not everyone "spams" in Kamadan. Some people actually go to other places in NF and have to go through this shitty trade center to get there. I wish Anet made a world map, no boats.

I rarely get lag problems

I only seem to lag in district 2, when i switch do a different district it goes back to green.

No problem here, so I'd agree on that "US only" statement.

Our advice: If you experience excessive amounts of lag or that bounce-back, running in place feeling, please change districts. You will almost certainly find that things improve and that your ping improves. If you experience a lot of lag, before you leave the district could you do me a favour? Mouseover the green/orange/red button thingie (I call it the Lag-O-Meter) in the lower right of your screen, and post the Server IP address that you see. Now, I'm not talking a bit of lag -- that can happen any old time and is often outside our servers. I'm talking about issues of huge delay, like when you post chat and it takes a minute to appear on screen, or when you just can't move across the screen because you keep snapping back. If you want to participate and are having those extraordinary issues, please post the Server IP in this thread. I have a steady 5k ping In Kamadan America but first I AM NOT AMERICAN, And second I GO TO FREAKING ENGLISH SERVERS <<< Less people on means less stress for the servers.

They're trying to work on it. Give them some time. It's been rather obvious that the servers are struggling lately and there have been a lot of other network/security/game issues lately, so like I said - give them time.

Again, Gaile acknowledged that it is a server issue. Just change districts if you run into a ton of lag and stay away from heavily populated districts.

In Spamadan now... 8K Ping and raising.

Honestly, just go in the international districts. It's less lag, and less of a hassle to deal with. And if you choose to go to an American district, go to the lowest one. Like d3+.
Though it doesn't help going into Spamadan during events.. Worst time to go there in an American district.

Man, American Districts of Kamadan are basically a no fly zone at this point.
People are unable to map out of there and I've heard of several people being unable to access characters that were in Kama AD's.
This is much worse than any year I can remember.

Kamadan EU was ok for me for a while, AE was totally unusable. Now they're both horrible. <.< I don't remember EU being this bad last year, tho.
