I've all but given up trying to find a build that works in UW with my mesmer. This build: http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Build:Me/E...lusions_Farmer is one suggested on the PVX Wiki under "Good" but it completely fails because of the activation time of flame djinn's haste. Clearing the chamber is easy enough, but the run always fails because the tank buffs wear off less than midway through and flame djinn's haste activation time means the grasping darknesses/nightmares/aatxes make short work of me.
I tried it with storm djinn's haste because its activation time is 1/4 of a second, but it STILL fails because anything short of an instant activating stance run equals death.
So tell me... does anyone know of a UW build for mesmers that works, where running to the smites is SUCCESSFUL? Clearing the chamber, I can do that on half a dozen mesmer builds, but the RUN to the smites is driving me insane!

Perhaps Drunken Master, an EOTN skill, just bring a booze to run there.

you can get rid of stone striker and replace mantra of earth with physical resistance.. that should free up a slot.. should be enough in nm to 0 the damage for smites.. you just need stoneflesh for the grasps anyway
elementalist this is a nice run cause they can use savannah heat instead of the illusion sig.. it's just one big nuke with no running/fear me to worry about
not sure if there's much you can do on a mesmer cause you'd need visage on anything less (least in nm).. but that would give you the slot for the run to smites at least- like lisa said drunken or a blue candy but cons not really the way to go, maybe try mindbender- or try both storm and flame djinn haste
watch right after the first 2 axes there will usually be a pop.. you'll get rend but it's not the end of the world- just keep going / wand the little guy and recharge in the hallway there to the next area.. then avoid the grasp patrol on the way to smites, should go fine
just a bad primary to try and run that build with- not quite enough damage to get a clean spike to get them all in one cast.. with the scatter it would suck

aye sorry about the above info- I hadn't run ectos in awhile, but you were right- I tried a few different runs on my elem to see if it was still good
looks like since the update, now you have grasps that pop in the hall- so you have to handle it a bit different
the grasps in the starter room are handled the same as before only use drunken and a spiked eggnog or any +5 liquor.. take the quest right away and then liquor up / drunken for the speed boost.. run up the steps on both sides to pop any shadows- wand them to death
now wait till the 2 sets of grasps come together at the top left steps.. this will happen quick so don't mess around with taking out the shadows
pull both sets down for the first nuke- abuse them.. now the last set of grasps will be on the other end- pull them down and abuse after the mana recharge
now reset your drunken stance and follow it with haste- get to the hall and all axes should have lost aggro.. recast stoneflesh with the glyph and grasping earth when the grasps in the middle of the next room are out- this will get you to the smites- you'll run by 2 skeles on the way just keep going
have to learn the patrol routes of the skeles now.. not really difficult.. they are mad dumb too- if you run back and forth, they won't even cast.. group the smite and hopefully the mesmer can do enough damage before they scatter
what's nice about elem is you don't need anything else.. the runs a bit trickier than I remember but it's still pretty fast- I don't like having to go drunk but that looks like the best way.. otherwise it's a tossup on getting there

I can clear graspings no problem, but because of my terrible running skills I've been having trouble making it to smites to test it, if somebody would give it a shot that'd be great. I think the build is pretty self explanatory, but feel free to ask. Suggestions are also highly appreciated.
