Problems with gfx card?

I seem to be having major problems with my gfx card, or atleast the gfx ingame.
When I went into AB, my screen went all black and everything went all weird. I went to my gfx settings and changed the shadow settings to the lowest it can go, this made it a little better but still not fixed.
I decided to quit AB and go into Dwayna Vs. Grenth where it was fine for a while, but then happened again. I got a screeny of it happening in DvG: http://img683.imageshack.us/img683/526/gw002c.jpg

I am running on a Dell Inspiron, model 1545, colour cherry red (if that helps).
Current specs are:
Pentium Duals-Core CPU T4300 2.10GHz 2.10GHz
3GB RAM
64-Bit Windows 7
The Graphics card is:
Quote:
Mobile Intel Series 4 Chipset Family
1292mb available graphics memory
32mb dedicated graphics memory
32mb dedicated system memory
1228 shared system memory
Display adapter driver version: 8.15.10.1808
Primary Monitor Resolution: 1366x768
DirectX Version 10
If anyone could provide potential solutions, or has experienced this problem before and knows how to fix it, I would be very appreciative.

Update: It also just went all weird and black in Ascalon City, so it's not just in pvp that it happens now either.
However, it always happens everytime on startup during AB. Even the little cutscene before AB is black.

Thanks!

It could be a corrupted gw.dat file - it may also be a dying video card (btw that gpu is integrated and not up to running GW at max settings...) What temps are you hitting ingame?

I think it's more likely the Intel GMA4500 to be honest, Elder.

So you're saying the gfx card isn't powerful enough to run gw even on the lowest graphics settings?

the GMA X4500 is actually very capable of running GW at max. however, yours appear to be broken.

A simple thing to do is to log in to GW, go to Option and then Graphics and hit the "Auto Detect" button. Some people say that auto-detect tends to set things lower than they need be, but it's a good starting point.
It sounds as though your laptop/graphics may be overheating. Reducing the graphics settings can help. So can blowing any dust bunnies out of the cooling ducts in your machine.
The GMA4500 is better than the older Intel GMAs - it may not totally choke on GW - but it's stll pretty bad compared to others.

You can always try to do a fresh driver install as well. Never seen problems this bad be driver related, but hey, you never know
