Got hacked what now ?

I just found out the reason I couldn't log into my account was.. few of my characters are gone... and their armor... and all my minipets, And all the f****** stuff i worked for.

Why does this happen to me, I barely have any stuff of worth and I mean that.

Note that my password was strongly secured.
Note that no one knew the email I used for the account ( It was a dead email address I didn't use)
Note that I tried to reset my password 100 times and never got a email.
Note that no one ever knew my account info.

This Is real I can easily post screenshots of my naked characters but that won't help either the only thing that Is not gone is my fungal wallow pet.. but that won't give me a better feeling of all the other stuff I lost..

What about your thoughts of this situation, This make me even wonder If I will play Guildwars 2 because my account can be easily hacked now can It.

Martin, just because there have been a lot of accounts hacked, that doesn't mean that snide comments are necessary.

Sorry to hear it. I would guess that a key logger is the likely culprit. Run a spyware scanner and see if anything pops up.

I would guess it is not a keylogger or not anything else in the victim's control, given the security joke that NCSoft has become.

Maybe we could set-up a guru bailout / support / insurance fund for hacked accounts

How long has your account been out of your possession? Before or after the "insert character name" security update?

When you visit porn sites of pirate software sites you take a BIGGGGG chance on getting back door trojan keyloggers and never even know it. Then they watch where you go and see the keys you type for your login and password and wallah account hacked and stolen. But it doesn't always have to be well known malicious sites like porn sites and pirate software sites it can even be from well known sites. Do you really know who's behind all the sites you visit? Can you really trust any of them except official ones and even official ones, can they ALL be trusted? You basically put your life, identity and all your online belongings at risk everytime you logon to it. Hacking has been growing for awhile now just like crime and threats to judges and court officials and jurors (did you see the news of what happened in Las Vegas?).
You are a victum. I suggest you completely reformat your hard drive and reinstall everything and start from scratch again. Stay away from most online sites that aren't official and perhaps you won't get hacked again.

nothing much you can do from experience, maybe except be paranoid scan your computer 2-3 days a week lol.... and contact support pray the hacker's/thief's fingers all fall off and probably maybe hope that game theft becomes a capital offence

seriously, I feel bad for you and I'm always a little afraid every time I log in. NCSoft and to an extent ANet is in such denial, but hopefully some game news sites latch on to this and blow it out of the water to get their attention.

Your account was probably accessed via the NCSoft master account security issue. I've heard of NCSoft restoring items on stolen Aion accounts, so you can try contacting support about that, but I'm not sure how far you'll get.
