Is Guild Wars Factions Discontinued?
Guynemer
I've never owned Guild Wars, but played on my friend's. Somehow, now that I want to buy it, I really like Factions. I'll be truthful and say that it was that picture of Nika that originally drew me towards it. All my computer wallpaper is, embarrassingly, of her. I want to buy Factions now though, but all the game stores don't stock it anymore, saying it's discontinued. Is it really discontinued?

No it is not discontinued. They just don't stock it as it is an older game and can be purchased in the Trilogy package. You will have better luck buying it online. gogamer.com has the CE version available (price is real) which I purchased from them in November.
I will mention that buying the Trilogy does make more sense as it gives you all three campaigns with some nice bonus weapons, the Fire Imp helper and, at level 10, a free hero.

Factions has never been discontinued....all it means is that supplier does not have any in stock....
There are plenty of online sites still selling Factions and that even includes the collectors edition.
Try Amazon... play.com just to mension a few.....Google Factions and you will see a lot of stores still have it in stock.
The price is low and as above has said Go for Trilogy or if your Europe then complete collection has Eye of the North ..the only expansion on it also
so you can create a char in any one campaign and they can hop over to any one of the other campaigns ...whaen they get to the port city

£5 on amazon for the CE, without a doubt the nicest CE of the lot, and has a mini Kuunavang into the bargain.
However all 4 games come as a collection for £15 on amazon, so up to you.

I bought mine on Ebay (collector's edition). Just find a reputable seller and you will be fine.

Factions, as a single-box stand-alone product may be discontinued. But it's still available as part of the Trilogy. I haven't actually seen the Trilogy in any local stores either, but it's readily available on-line.

Here's the guy on ebay I purchased from (even cheaper now...)

If you didn't already know, with the collector's edition you will get a mini Kunnavang (worth a lot) and special dances for the assassin and ritualist (those one's you see where the player has 3 ghosts dancing behind them).

Ebay is okay as long as you make sure it's new and unopened. Just NEVER buy a used Guild Wars game from Ebay. Plenty of people sell them, and of course never mention to you that it's worthless if the key is used.
I got the Factions Platinum off Ebay very cheap, and it was new and sealed and worked fine. I wanted the Bonus Mission pack and that's the only way to get it without buying it from the NCSoft store and hence the NCSoft security risks.
Newegg has good deals on various GW packages, and Gogamer.com.
Amazon UK has extremely good prices, while Amazon US for some reason DOES NOT.
