I'm not sure this is the right forum, so please move if this doesn't belong here.

Ever since the Winterday event started, I am unable to reconnect to my mission/dungeon/vanq/quest after a d/c like I could before they launched the event. This means I can't do anything but standing around in towns, because I just happen to d/c a lot.

I did all I can to prevent the d/c'ing (driver updates, checking router, checking connection, checking hardware, etc), but I can't seem to fix it. Now I don't have a problem with d/c'ing every hour or so, but if I can't reconnect, I can't play the game.

Is there anyone else with the same problem? This could be a bug or something they forgot to restore after the event.

One issue that may be affecting your ability to reconnect is the new log in requirements

You may have noticed when you log in that the character selected is the one you entered in the login screen. If you've logged in naming one character, and are playing on another when you D/C there is a confict when the client tries to reconnect, and it kicks you out the instance.

If you know you're going to play one character for a while, log in with their name. You may still d/c, but you should be able to reconnect in the instance so long as you're within the time limit.

EDIT: I tried what you said and it worked! I had no clue that that could be the problem. Thanks a lot for you help!

Please close.

So I need to type the name of the character I d/c'd with in the log-in screen? I always use one standard name and now you mention it, I haven't played her in a while and thus haven't d/c'd with her yet.

Nice tip! Going to try it out, thnx!

Edit: Thanks for moving, so far looks like it's not a bug.
