my friend apears offline in my friend kist

hi
when my friend is playing guildwars
i cant whisper to him. When i whisper hip it says hes not online.
but he is playing. the worst thing is that he can whisper to me but i cant to him..
he didnt ignore me and his status is online..
anybody an idea?

Are you absolutely sure you typed his name right?

Try this: after he whispers you press Backspace, this will make you reply to the last person who whispered you.

he may have had a huge lag spike

this often disables PMs and how you appear on friend list

In the "friends" menu, you can set your own status to "online", "offline", "away" and do "not disturb". That's probably what your friend did.

This has happened to me too, friend is online, they can PM me but when I pm back it says they are offline. When they re-connected it will work but this would randomly happen after a while. At first I thought they were winding me up by going to offline mode. Nice to know I'm not the only one who has had this

He is most likely set to offline status, which you can do on a drop down menu on your friends list. I'm not sure it stays after you log off but tell him to turn it off.

Or one of you has been disconected from the friends server not the game server also depends what side of the router at anet your on.
I have had this a lot lately since just before the wintersday build and my friend used netview or some program and we
were on different sides of the anet friends router ( i have prolly explained this wrong as thats the short version of what he told me).
The disconect from friends server should get a new window popup saying do you want to reconect anyway.
