So, I finally gained access to my account since I've bought the GOTY edition on Steam during their holiday sale. I have to say that it's a good game, and I love the fact that you don't have to p2p. I'm going to buy the trilogy real soon, and take it from there. I just really wanted to introduce myself and stuff.
I also wanted to know what would be the paladin class for this game?

Welcome to Guild Wars and Guru!
There are a couple of different ways to make a "Paladin". Note that none of these are particularly effective when compared to playing an offensive build with good defensive support on other players.
The most effective way is to play as a Dervish, since they have both useful offensive and defense skills. You don't have Nightfall yet, but the Dervish Avatar skills (Dwayna in particular) are great for playing a "Paladin" and somewhat easy to learn on.
A less effective way, but one you can start now with just Prophecies is the Warrior/Monk. You can bring an adrenaline heavy build and spend some energy on some defensive Monk skills such as Mending. Note that you'll be less effective than even the henchmen, but if you are having fun who cares.
If you want some further advice/assistance, check out the Explorer's League and Campfire Forums.

Ahhh, well they asked me to choose a second class with my warrior class, so which class is effective with a warrior?

There's a comprehensive guide to warrior here:

See post #6 for recommendations of secondary class. Note you'll be able to change your second class as much as you want later, so your choice now is only temporary.

If wanting a paladin theme on a warrior, start as a W/R (ranger secondary) for some various reasons;
-W/Mo, W/Me and W/E will drain most of your energy and will leave you standing near to useless.
-You'll have access to a pet, they are very useful in starter areas of campaigns since they'll draw some aggro off team members.
If/when you buy Nightfall, you'll find both Dervishes and Paragons serve just as well as each other when playing a paladin role.

Thanks, I was thinking of trying the ranger class as a secondary.

Welcome to GW... bit late but it is still a great game
I suggest you first focus on your 1st class... and maybe take monk as a 2nd class, but just for a hard ress. Later on you can earn/buy extra 2nd classes (depends on the campaign how to get them). By that time you have some experience with your 1st class and you better understand what 2nd classes will add something useful to your build(s).

Take every prejudice and game mechanic lodged into your brain from a P2P thing like WoW,and throw it away. Take advice from Vet's whenever and wherever. The game begins at levels 20,that's the most key thing to remember.

Also, don't try to tank. Monsters in GW are too smart to fall for it (unless you go to such lengths that the game stops playing naturally. Solo farming, in other words). As a warrior, also don't try to heal. You don't have the energy, and you will not want to switch targets between enemies and teammates (the combat is waaaaay too fast to do that effectively unless you are in the backline) - although, some support shouts are very useful. Unfortunately, paladin doesn't really have an equivalent in Tyria.
To conclude: In Guild Wars, Charr train-spike, then /taunt YOU!
