Uninstalling Trend Micro

Hey all, I've got a laptop here that has Trend Micro that came shipped with it, however I'm trying to uninstall it so I can put kaspersky on the laptop and none of the normal methods like add/remove programs and the TM uninstaller that shipped with my PC worked.

Anyone have any better solutions?

I've yet to deal with Trend Micro.
before uninstalling have you tried to kill it's processes [then uninstall]?
have you tried uninstalling in safe mode?
do you have/run an admin account/account w/permissions allowing you the ability to uninstall applications?

Flubber, it wasn't on according to windows, but I haven't tried safe mode.

Tarun, I tried the toolkit but it didn't work and it stopped working partway through the uninstall several times.

If it's the "HijackIt" by Trend Micro, I would most definitely keep it.
