Is there a way to close your own threads?

The title is pretty self explanatory. If this is in the wrong forum, please move it. I was unsure where the best place to put this thread was.

You cannot, however, personally close your own thread in such a way that no more people can post in it. Only mods can, in which case you can follow JR's advice.
