Question about Onyx Gemstone Price?

The price at the trader says 110g but when I hit request quote, it goes to 500. Then if i leave and talk to the trader, it goes back to 110g. Does this mean the supply is low or what? If I wait, will the price lower or should I go ahead and buy?

it will stay this way. the value when you merchant an onyx or a diamond is 250g. 500g is the lowest you can buy them at

Yeah, there are minimum prices at the merchant that everything will sell for, even if the listed price is lower. If the listed price is lower, it just shows you how overfarmed an item is

This is to prevent people from buying them in large numbers, holding onto them, and then selling them for profit if the price increases just a little bit.
That way, people who want to buy items as an investment have a chance to lose money and can't just get a return with no possible risk.
