New Special weekend event Ideas
Jonzcrusher
I have been getting tired of the rehashed weekend events over and over, so here are a couple new event ideas i had.
1, The Monster Mash Weekend, All Tonics can be used in PVP and PVE areas. How funny would it be to enter a AB battle or any pvp as all Abyssals or Mursaats.
2, The Anything Goes Weekend, All PVE Skillz unlocked for PVP play. Let the Madness Begin! Meta this!
Anyway just a couple funny ideas I had to add a little spice to a dying game.

It would be just for 2 days. i.e weekend event, mix it up , live a little
Rhododendron
Niice! Come on Arenanet, you know you want it too! One more reason to max up those titles!

The grind reduction weekend!
1. Quintuple (5 times as much instead of the current double) points towards the title when donating Luxon/Kurzick points.
2. Double the reputation rewards - books, VQs, dungeon rewards while removing the penalty for redoing dungeons/missions.
3. Make each party/booze/sweet item give 5 times as many points as it does now.
And then have this apply EVERY weekend.

Dunno if it would be frustrating, it might be worth the try. Why not it's just for one weekend. Bring on the ursan teams, would be fun to see

Tonics do more than just change size causing targeting/blocking issues. They hide the character/armor so classes can hide easier. Trying to attack that Monk? Is it the Candy Corn, Elf, Rabbit, Norn, Golem, Charr, or some other monster?
For RA it might be fun, as not many people there are playing seriously. But for HA and GvG where people care.... no way. In a sense, your idea means they can't play the game they want to play for a weekend. I wouldn't be happy if someone took my game away for a weekend, and I know I'm not alone in that.
And the PvE skills is the same. There is a reason they are PvE skills only. They are OP, and putting anything OP into PvP is a bad idea. Even for a weekend, this means that GvG standings can get altered for a silly weekend idea.

ANet has already shown evidence that they don't want large creatures mucking up players' view, in PvE or PvP, through M.O.X. being PvE-exclusive and tonic users getting their appearance changed when standing close to festival avatars.
And the PvE skills for PvP idea is not new, and not a good idea. Add a little spice to a dying game, you say? Throwing a shitton of imbalance into PvP is going to kill PvP, regardless of how long you let it last.

I would like it if ANET would for one weekend every 2 months, play new Jeremy Soule's GW2 music, along with some of his already familiar songs, as we play during that weekend.....up until its full release anyway.
Maybe even have available for farming new GW2 rare weapons during that weekend as well.
Its all quite yummy.

but your fine with anet using the nerf bat in pve? and essentially taking my game away from me? dont know if your ok with it or not but seems most on this site are. i ENJOYED keg farming and making things go boom LOL, i enjoyed doing uwsc the old way, and i enjoy perma, and they are soon to take that away from me, my game the way i like to play it.
/signed it would be fun to be able to go out into pve as a mursaat, might confuse the mursaat in the end of proph LOL. it would just be fun, and as for pvp who cares its only for one weekend its not permanent like some of the nerfs anet has slammed me and my kind with.

Why what is so bad that you might have to stop playing RA or even Codex which nobody does play, it's only for 2 days that you can't bully new guys.
Seems like more fun than 3 out of 10 RA matches people resigning because there is no monk in the team.

Remember the costume brawl from halloween? Why not make a temporary pvp arena like that for a pve-in-pvp weekend? It wouldn't mess with the regular pvp, so it's just for those who want to play it. Maybe it could count towards the gamer title, but I dunno. And the problem of the pve skills being OP would be mitigated by the fact that everyone would have access to all of them temporarily (at a fixed rank). I think it could be a fun, silly little weekend event. Why not?
Morphy
That's odd, whenever I go into RA teams I get into rarely resign with no monk on the team. Funny coincidence?

I 100% agree with quoted poster and he like me is a pve player who enjoyed some fun things untill anet nerfed them because of winers i say fix it all and bring some new fun and anet will have their game back allow pve skills back into pvp (exeption of elite pve only skills) for a weekend wont hurt if u cant play for one weeked big deal try having anet swing a nerf bat at something you like and not being able to play it at all anymore

There are modeling issues with respects to tonics. Thats why most of them are intown usage only.
With the candy corn or elf ones, its model is basically the same as all the character class ones (corn is a necro and elf is a mesmer).....so its able to hold a shield/wand/staff/sword/etc. Thus, allowing the graphical issue of fighting/skill usage to still be done.
Now one might say, well about something like mursaats ...they (as foes) still use animations and what not. Well not always. Mursaats are only casters, so there would be issues with warriors wanting to run Mursaat tonic.
If I'm not mistaken theres a huge difference in your actual character modeling compared to your "foes" modeling.
In pvp some tonics would probably hide everything, including a big thing for pvpers.....Skill animation. Thats a huge deal in pvp. Thats a huge part of the reason why it wouldnt fly as well as other previous stated remarks.

Gamer point weekends. Bring back Costume/Dragon/Snowball arenas for a weekend, double Gamer title points.
Or just make Polymock give gamer points/make Costume Brawl permanent.

Erm, why are people even still considering messing with the existing PvP for a weekend? A new temporary arena for PvE skills in PvP would be feasible and fun. People who want to play can, and people who want to play regular PvP can too. When the costume ball and snowball arenas were running, they didn't replace the regular PvP. Why is replacing it even considered? If people want that PvE skills in PvP idea for a weekend, just make a version of the costume ball arena. Simple, easy, and fun.

*disclaimer* Im offering my thoughts even though Id rather have the time spent on GW2. This is just a thought to see if others would like.
Make Jade Quarry and Fort Aspenwood team based for the weekend...8v8...get on a team.
Now I know there would issues with this with respects to people getting in groups. Im not sure you can EVER get around that.
I've always like Jade quarry. I've always thought ha and gvg could test maps like JQ to see how things go. I would lean towards the side of HA more than GVG. Personally Id rather see HOH on a map like JQ where the "3rd team" is NPC based as apposed to player based. That would get rid of the ganking issues, yet possibly keep things interesting when having to take on the npcs as well as the other team. Course the Holding team would have to have some advantage, but not much. Not sure how that would work exactly....with respects to have NPCs around.
With that said.... Maybe a weekend of team Jade quarry could be a testing ground of something like possible move to the HoH map. Keep the actual HOH map, but add in NPCs when capping shrines and what not. I dont have exact ideas on that, but its something that could be tossed around.
With respects to JQ, the turtle and juggy /stuck would have to be addressed first. As for the actual weekend, the npcs would stay the same. At some point (if people actually like a 8v8 team JQ), they NPC's could be updated with differnet classes, different bars or just more of them.
Casual thoughts please. I'm not completely sold on my ideas, so other peoples thoughts would be appreciated.

Or is it...you are the type of person to "act like they know" when you dont really know. If you dont know...dont act you know. If you are proven wrong..then what?
The point being to try things out on a weekend basis. As apposed to just implementing something without testing it and getting good solid feedback from the community. Yes i know theres a test krewe......so dont bother.

Your idea is to take random cm formats and turn it into an organized 8v8. there is no point as there are already two 8v8 pvp formats. this is completely pointless, and very stupid.

READ MY POST>>> Its a trial weekend to test the possibility of moving something like JQ to HA.
With respects to making another 8v8 ......So if we already have 2 kinds of soda..that mean putting out a 3rd soda is stupid and pointless??? Thats your reasoning? first off, jq/fa + organized teams would just be even more gimmicky and lame than it already is, then you'd have rank discrimination and lamefaggotry just like hero's ascent, and the time it takes to form up for 8v8, then the typically huge wait for matches in JA/FA wouldn't be worth the time or effort for kurz/lux faction.
retarded analogy, you can't compare 8v8 pvp formats to shit that people drink. and why should i try to reason with someone with a poorly thought out idea that can't come up with a better defense for their retarded idea than "READ MY POST>>> Its a trial weekend to test the possibility of moving something like JQ to HA." |

You still havent come up with any "real" reason other that its a "retarded" idea. You are really having a hard time grasping this arent you?
Im not going to argue anymore about straying off the topic of my original idea. You stated something I already stated about getting into groups. I already pointed out that no matter what you do...that will always happen.
So yea..Im done until you can come up with somewhat of an intelligent comeback of why its not a possible idea.
....Other than your "retarded".."lamefaggotry".."stupid" explanations of reasons why it might not work.
