Aesthetics: need help with boots

Bought monument attire, dyed it silver.
Not interested in eye-patch.

The problem I'm facing right now is that I can't find suitable boots. Actually, not even hose and still experimenting with gloves. Need some advice here.

Many armor pieces dye very badly. If I buy some boots, and have no intention of having them in brown, they are useless. If I dye them, the dye will affect so small area that it's pointless. This problem I have with many armor pieces, and it kinda ruins IMO many armor designs.

So what boots look best in silver, or white, or grey? What hose? Which ones dye the most? Which ones have no annoying patterns, rainbow colors etc?

Done.

I am guessing your best bet is to bug the mods to move this thread to the screenshot part of the forum because it will just get closed here because supposedly "pretty" isn't discussion-worthy.

No idea really. I actually believe the idea that mesmers have cute outfits is cake.

Ah, and I thought mesmers mostly discuss aesthetics considering inferior skills in PvE. I mean, what else are we going to discuss in this subforum, whether Crippling Anguish is better than Migraine for general PvE area? Blackout or Spirit Shackles? Riiight.

Mesmer arsenal is in their WARdrobe!

Primeval dye good (you can see the dye chart on wiki) but they have a pattern and I'm afraid they won't suit the rest. There are some other that dye decently (luxon, courty, etc) but won't suit monumental either. Deldirmor look ok when dyed silverish (dyable part with silver looks almost like the not dyable silver one but you can still notice the difference with different lights) but it has a gold halfmoon on behind. Imho you'd better change the pants as well, I would suggest deldrimor, but I don't have deldrimor hose (and no primeval at all) so it's just a guess. I can post you a screen of deldrimor boots+monumental pants and hose dyed silver later if you wish.

I was about to buy deldrimor before until I noticed yellow non-dyable patch at the back. Really, whose design was that? So I'm going to have yellow-greyish-customcolor boots and look like a gypsy.

Best hose I've found for mixing and matching is standard courtly, as long as the belt is covered (there's a patch that stays green for some reason so it doesn't work with short or open-waisted attires), as the material is plain all over so it dyes uniformly with no patterns or anything. Monument attire covers the belt area so courtly hose work well with it.

Boots - my favourite are the monument, even though they don't dye, so I'm (a) biased and (b) have limited options for testing. (Most mesmer boots look awful IMO but the monument are almost unique in that they have heels and aren't skintight.) Of the few I've bothered keeping, standard luxon seem to be the best match for monument attire. The lacing on the boots matches the zigzags on the attire, the dyeable area is fairly large and in a sensible place, and the non-dyeable part isn't too fancy or a funny colour. The wrap style of the dyeable part might not be to your taste, though.
