I've been playing for 2 and a half years now, and pretty much done anything I wanted to do. I have tons of cash, and don't know what to do with it. What do I do with my money or my character?

If there is nothing you want to do in GW, then find a new game. If you don't want to leave your character/money/riches sit idle, then give them to a friend/guild/alliance. Just don't complain if you decide to start playing again and you gave stuff away that you will want.

Do whatever, and buy whatever, floats yer boat.

Have you played all classes to level 20? I just recently made a new Paragon and took it through EotN (been playing 4+ years.). I had a Paragon storage mule (level 12), but I re-rolled him as a her. I've now played all 10 classes and enjoyed every one.
(but it's getting close to burn-out again.)

You could learn to do VSF runs as a perma, RoJ, BiP, FS and HB - that could amuse you for a while. (I haven't done the BiP)

And, you could work on some titles. The real titles like Legendary Protector or Vanquisher - not the kiddie titles (drunk, sweettooth, party animal - the stuff designed to keep the children amused, ) And, no cheating either - no getting a perma or 600/smite to run you through stuff - where's the fun in that.

dearest archress

i want to have your problem

you see, i have such a hard time generating gold.. i've been playing for 4 years and the most i've ever accumulated was ~300k

i did manage to get 3 sets of elite armour so now my gold is considerably less

o.o

how did you get so much gold?

i bet you have those uber expensive gaunts, glasses & ninja masks eh?

i don't know... it might just be me... but..., i am having a difficult time feeling bad for you at this point in time.

I totally agree. Been doing some, but I mean, VQ is boring, protector i already have and guardian is just the same stuff, so it's boring.

No, haven't played all classes because it's boring. I know how to play them from PvP and PvE is the same things all over again. Go here, talk to that guy, kill that boss, go there do that. It's boring. And I already know what's gonna happen so...

What's the point? For more money?

NO WAY. I will NOT grind and waste my life on crap like that. Doing that is more of a waste of time. Plus, I hate grinding.

Btw, does anybody know of a F2P game that is kinda similar to GW?

Just so u understand the situation: My sin has NEVER farmed me over 100k. I play mainly my ranger, almost nothing else. I have 5 sets of elite armor and 985k in bank, silverwing recurve bow, tormented bow, and 5k sweet points. So yeah, spent a few millions of gold on her. tbh, I really don't know how I've gotten so much.

It is just you. Just simply playing the game should net you some good gold. I don't even consider those gauntlets, glasses, masks, etc., to be "uber" expensive.

If you need gold, pick up all your drops - even the white stuff - and merch it. Except, of course, anything that is worth something - sell the good stuff in Kamadan or on Guru forums/auctions.
Also learn to do some good farms, such as VSF, to get some good stuff to sell.

@Archess - I guess only what MagmaRed said is the best answer for you - find some other game to play - for a while at least. I've been looking for one myself. I played WoW for a few months - it's good in it's way. I recently played the beta for Star Trek Online. I've also tried D&D Online, Runes of Magic, and a few others, but haven't found anything yet.
I play TFC (Team Fortress Classic) more than GW, lately, but I have been playing a Paragon these days.

I felt the same way aboout 6 months ago and basically stopped playing except to pop in everynow and then. I think was about the time they killed off TA nd HB.

But now I'm back to spending my spare time on GW's. I never used to do JQ, no I do it alot so it's still kind of new to me and fun.

I'm not going to do all that stuff again on some other character. I have a Ranger that is the only PvE character I have ever gotten to level 20 in 46 months of Gw's. So I'm slowy working on titles for that guy, even though they are boring. An then basically doing whatever the guild is doing.

Once I get all the rust off I'll go back to hardcore PvP.

Asfar as the money goes, I dunno what to tell you but I'm in the same boat, I have everything I want and nothing to spend the money on. I don't go in for the epeen "look and my leet cool stuff" and "Oh I gotta get me one of them Voltaic Spears" like some people. If I like the look of something I'll buy it.

walk away for a few weeks/months and then come back like I did.

Ok u must do this:
Buy FOW armor an chaos gloves.
Buy a high Rank in a very expensive Title (Zaishen etc.)
Buy a rare Minipet.
Stand arround in towns and show off ur Huge E-peen and pick up chicks.
What's more to want than that in a game.

Most of the players who played for 4 years have that "problem".
I lost my enthusiasm when it comes to gw long time ago.

I kill my time now with RA, few speed clears, nicholas and stocking up consumables (cupcakes, pies, cons, corns and other useful ones). So you might try that. Don't do stuff you do not find fun and don't buy weps/pets/armor you don't like. I personally think all torm weps are fugly.
My only hope for some game refreshment is upcoming skill balance.
Or if u don't find anything slightly fun at all in gw, try GTA, i'm playing that atm.

@Shake : showing off E peen along with your 5 sets of torm wep, full obsy armor (xcept for chaos gloves) and max gwamm doesn't impress lvl 2 old character in ascalon played by 10 year old fat kid who discovered gw 3 months ago (because the huge amount of those "e peens" you call. They are e peen cause you think so.

Now one is impressed with anything this far in game.

What if archress is female??

If so, she supposed to show off her "Huge" E-chest? Or E-booty? Or E-vag? Well...I take that back on the "huge" E-vag

Option.
Have a contest if you really dont want to spend some your money for yourself. Buy some semi-expensive items and give them away as prizes.

Oh yea one thing about the whole grinding thing/titles/getting bored.

I had the foresight to see that rushing through titles and game would leave me in a position where I'd get bored. When titles came out, it seemed like it was a race for people to max them out as quickly as possible....To be the first on the block to have Gwamm.

I knew if I did the same, I would easy get to a point and lose interest. So I decided to take the turtle route and do what I wanted when I wanted. Do a little here....do a little there. I'm still not at Gwamm, close though. I really think thats helped me continue to enjoy the game and not be too bored with it. Theres so many things that I havent done yet....on purpose. Just a thought.

What? What would that quote having anything to do with anything in this thread? If the OP is tired of this game there's no reason for her to stay around. It's not my job to make someone play a game they don't care for anymore.

It's a quote from Starcraft, just fyi. Regardless, this is all kinda off topic.

Of course it not your job, it's just me being a bit off topic.

I just related that quote to recent gw events , the fall of XTH, lack of balance updates, codex arena that no one plays...
I'm not QQing just got a felling like the game and community is falling apart.
Heh i should take a long break from this game now, till i feel desire to play it again...

at one point i was like that. got all my pvp titles i'd been working on for 4 years, got every class to 100% perfection and tricked out for pvp, had every weapon skin/armor set i ever wanted including ridiculously rare ones, and still had an assload of cash and ectos left over.

so i bought every single expensive skin there was to get, just to say i had them. now i just go window shopping in kamadan and buy crap i don't need in high end. occasionally i'll come across a nice yet pointless rare pve item, then i'll go kill some fire imps with it or something. basically since all my objectives in the game i've accomplished, i just do whatever i feel like doing at that given moment, mostly completely pointless things. like troll farming with a wammo. or doing gates of kryta solo on a ranger. or running people from ascalon to LA for free just for the nostalgic value. it's kind of nice knowing you have everything and can play in the most leisurely way possible with no goal in mind but to have fun.

when i get bored with GW i play other games for a few months. I have take 4-5 4 month or so breaks. It's always fun to come back after half a year and see what has changed. With the lack of updates now though, it may be more difficult to find obvious changes anymore.

I don't get it. Most of my friends quit playing after beating the storylines lol. So yh a few months, and they said goodbye.

But alot do enjoy pvp. And that's why they keep playing. I actually don't know much people like you gift3d. After completing the story line I tried to go for a few titles. I VQ Elona and I was bored after and stopped with pve (call+1234 is not fun!). But you can just do everything with all professions and farm/powertrade just go get other skins. I'm not gonna judge your skills. I mean, I guess you like that playstyle. But it amazes me that people can play boring pve for so long.

I serious can't understand why people still do pve. It's not skill anymore, It's all about time/grind now.
_

@TS
I advice you to try other games. WoW and Aion can be fun for a while or for a very long time. Or maybe try other genres. Shooters and RTS games are also much fun.

If you really can't leave GW.. do some more pvp! It's the most fun part of the game anyways.

Guild Wars is good because it allows you to take breaks and remain on par with everyone else(although you may have to spend a few minutes putting a build together or a few seconds on the PvX wiki) play other games until you feel like playing Guild Wars again. If a game ever becomes boring that is the first sign that you should be doing something else, until the game has new content to excite you or it is no longer routine and you can have fun with it again.

anywho i like orange milk's idea. even though i've hardly done everything there is in GW i've had times when i stopped playing. then after a few weeks i come back to tyria, it feel refreshing. (although its just a game right? )
as in the money do whatever you want with it, you coulld always try and fill up your xunlai vault + every char's inventory with stacks of ectos then max gold in your bank account and all chars. <--- would that be Uber 1337?

Hmm interesting . . . If you have money to blow, id throw a huge "event" in honor of yourself for achieving such a point in GW; giveways, contest, konga-lines for $$, drok run races (ive hosted some of these back when droks were ran by wars FUN!), . . in short a mini-event.

This is pretty much where I'm at. Although ecto farming bores the shitter out of me, so I don't do it much, I've still managed to work my way through the High-End skins, to the point where now the only skin I haven't yet had is a Dryad Bow, which tbh, I find pretty fugly..Nevertheless, it's on the list, it's the last one, so it's next..

In complete honesty, I don't really like any of the high end skins enough to keep em, so I just buy em, plug around a bit with em, sell and move on. The only ones I keep are torms, which in my mind aren't really high end, but they're decent-looking and cheap enough to customise. Most of my toons have one. Apart from those, generally I like the simple skins>all. i.e. Bo Staves, Shadow weapons, Ghostly staves, etc.

Fiscal gains aside, I find that no matter how much you've done in GW, there's always something you haven't done, and regardless of whether you think you'll like it, or not, generally anything new is fairly certain to provide a new challenge, the chance to perfect it, and the self-satisfaction you feel when you do perfect it.

Nothing makes me happier in GW, Neverwinter Nights, hell any game where there are things u can repeat, than getting to the point where you do it so well that it's not a matter any more of trying to do it right, it's more a matter of trying to do it even smoother and more cleanly than the last time.

I suppose that's why the top times in my Saturn version of Sega Rally had less than half a second difference between first place and 30th.

Archress Shayleigh... they just do not understand...

I am in the same boat. I got a horse shoe up the behind and I get VS Drops.. joined a Guild that owned a town and then bought 1,000,000g worth of keys and then the alliance disbanded, got 3 cel tigers from 250 fortunes.

i got my Obby armor and my torm shield, filled my hall of monuments, dont ethe games.. got my titles.. and I am super rich. I made 90ectos on one trade 2 weeks ago and I was like.. what's the point anymore..

So..

Like you, not knowing what to do.. I thought.. What is the hardest title to get in the WHOLE GAME..single title that is.. you know stand alone..

LUCKY and UNLUCKY. So I decide to get my lucky title. I started at 850,000 lucky and over the weekend I am up to 1,130,000 now.

So, this is what I am doing. It is boring as all get up but can you imagine me switching titles in presearing between, Legendary Defender of Ascalon, Cursed By Fate, Blessed By Fate and Legendary Treasure hunter?
