Right, because everyone who plays GW has been around for 5 years, and can afford to just let their computers sit idle with the game open.
Or have hundreds of hours of free time to dedicate to playing dodgeball. This is a game, there doesn't have to be a limit. Why do people assume that we should only get "fun" bits in small little parcels? If people want to play Dragon Arena, why can they only do it a few times a year? The code is in place. Also, I highly doubt that leaving a character to stand on a pad for 2000 hours is somehow considered "special" or "fun" for ANYONE. At most, its an exercise in frustration and boredom, and because ANet only does it very seldomly, you get hundreds of districts, random crashes and bugs etc. EVERY time the boardwalk is open, the server is constantly giving errors and kicking people. If GW2 is coming out next year, and assuming that ANet still wants people to buy and play GW, hence injecting new blood into the game, then they have to take into account the fact that new players won't have had as much time to max titles as all the elitist jerks who are for exclusivity. Leave the Boardwalk open all the time, year round. Leave one of the "dodgeball" games open, year round. And make it accessible to players who may not own Factions. The code is in place, people would enjoy it as a break from monster killing, and the lessened server strain would see less bugs occurring. Its a win-win situation all around, I have no idea why there's any real resistance to it. |
its that simple, if ppl jsut want it in hom, take a couple of days in the snowball or halloween event, and play it for a bit. the title is called skillz title, and im pretty sure that doesnt mean(at least not originally intended for) random noobs can go at it everyday all yr round to finally get it after like 6months. i mean, can you imagine people with "skillz" but have no "skills"? lmao. for me, the only fun thing about these events is that my friends who quit gw can come back during these few days of the yr, and we be able to see eachother and play togehter during the holiday events. if they made it all yr round, then wtf is so special about any holiday events at all?
as for lucky/unlucky titles, i think these are a joke to begin with. like i said, being able to legitimately afk and max out 2 titles is more than ridiculous enough, not to mention that these titles actually have some practical functions. even u agree that theyre not fun to ANYONE at all. and now your saying EVERYONE should be able to do it all yr round? nice way to dumb down the game and make it even more crap than it alrdy is. i honestly dont think, in spite of the shitty game gw has become, that every random noob should be running around with r12 gamer, or maxed lucky/unlucky titles, cuz thats going to hit a new low if that srsly happend.
but then again, i alrdy quit the game, and event games are the only reason that i dont have it deleted on my comp. if anet made it all yr round, theyre jsut setting some new record for playing limbo with their product, and i for one will definately not be joining in with that.
