Most Forgiving Farming Builds
Young_Ranger
I almost hate to admit this but . . .
First, I tried the 55HP Monk build. I got the build, the armor, but just don't have the necessary patience and timing to stay alive.
Next, I tried the W/N Raptor Farmer. I am getting better at this I get the boss maybe 1 time out of 10. I am not sure it is worth the effort, but I may stay with it to see if I get better.
This week I needed to farm Bone Charms for Nicholas the Traveler. I had just completed the Norn Tournament using an Any/Rt Spirit Farmer build, so I used it again. It was so much simpler than either the 55HP monk or W/N Raptor Farmer. It was my first lower stress, solo farming experience in Guild Wars. I was using a Ranger/Rt, so it makes me want to create a primary Ritualist. Pvx Wiki provides a list of places suitable for a Spirit Farmer which will keep me busy for weeks.
Spirit Farmer has fewer skill activations, with less critical timing compared to a 55 hp monk. W/N Raptor Farmer is somewhere in between but closer to the 55Hp monk.
Can someone suggest another farming build that is similar to the Spirit Farmer? Is it the exception to the rule for non-critical timing? Another way to ask the question might be I like Spirit Farmer but hate 55 hp Monk, so for people who like Spirit Farmer build what other builds do you like?
Thanks.

Perma sliver is the next easiest to spirit spamming

As DBMan,
1-2-3-4-5-6-7,wait,wait,1-2-3-4-5-6-7
on and on, nothing hard..

Ya Perma sliver but it get's stressful then you run ppl (solo if you don't care)

Perma-SF is not forgiving at all though. If you miss the timing of 1-2-3 (glyph/paradox, sf) you are then almost guaranteed toasted, early casting glyph makes it easier, but still relies on SF being cast.
600/Smite is a slightly better option, if you miss a spirit bond or SoA ideal-cast time then you can survive depending on the number and type of (read: toucher) enemies.
An earth tank build would pretty much ditto 600/Smite.
I believe trapping is the only other really forgiving (albeit often inefficient) way to do solo/duo farms, because like spirit spamming; you are not directly tanking enemies.

55 monk id suggest keep trying it , long time ago i tried it and i sucked bigtime and left it for a few months and when bk to it out of boredom , i can 55 easily now but it takes practice and you`ll soon get the gist.
W/n ive never tried so no advice there sadly but for any/rt dont use the norn tourney build except in tourney , there is a good spirit spammer build thats good on any chr - great on necros/eles http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Build:Any/Rt_Spirit_Farmer - i drop resto and put points into the main 2 attrs and i add summon spirits an it works a treat.
If by chance your using a low nrg regen chr ( war/para ) siphon spirits can be needed.

600 though easy, is not very forgiving imo (at least as i intend it) as you still have to watch your enchants constantly like the 55. Spirit spammer is usually the safest as you can often even run away if needed.

I think alot really depends on what you want to farm. There are some places where a 55 is really easy while other places it is hard. I prefer a 55 Necro to a monk but that is just me. The only other build that wasn't mentioned so far that can farm a variety of things with a high rate of survival is the W/Rt VWK. Also, there are a few ele builds that aren't too bad. I would say just practice and get the builds down and go from there. I wouldn't invest too much in a perma or even the smite since the threat of nerf has been out there awhile. Good luck

There are a lot of old Warrior builds for farming the early areas of the Underworld for Ecto, give a few of those a try?
PvX has a few =)

MisterB - i still screw sf at times but via distraction usually some sneaky foe had aoe lol.
I think most farming builds need constant work when using them unless its something like raptors on w/n as thats a quick kill and out job - others may be finding mobs an grabbing huge aggro and then watching sf dont run out .....

Touch Ranger, very good for many bosses.

No single profession can farm all the farmable places so it depends what you are farming for. As to OP's question as to what farming build is similar to R/RT SS build, obviously none apart from other Primaries using Rt as secondary. Elementalists are pretty good for a number of areas( feathers, raptors, scales and much more). I use practically most professions to farm depending on which one is most suited for the occasion. It is a matter of practice in order to succeed in whatever areas/builds you choose to use.

superraptors
guild wars has ran out of diverse fun farming builds + loot scaling destroyed the fun

I wouldnt try to learn 600/smite or perma sliver cuz they are both getting nerfed soon..I would say keep using a spirit spammer bring it into UW and see how many ectos you can get good luck
