Hey guys,
Im at like 95% of my canthan explorer and I vanquished everything.
I really want to get my 100% and tried it with GIMP but just don't get the 2 pictures at the right resolution.
So i decided to use Texmod.
I'm using Mc Afee and i read about it how i can use them together (Get Texmod.exe out of the quarantine (let me know if I'm wrong)).
But now i have another question.
I'm also using Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware (not at the same time, I know 2 anti-virus programs are bad but I don't use them at the same time, I use these for alternative pc scans).
Do any of you guys uses these programs and do they detect Texmod as a Trojan aswell?
I hope you can help me out,

I use both along with AVG. And AVG is the only program i have issues with.
Ive never had any issues between Texmod and Malwarebytes and SuperAnti. ![]() |
I prefer to run a scan with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware after i download Texmod and the explorer mods.

Any small exe going to be looked at as a Trojan because it modifies another program. I highly doubt you can hide a keylogger in a TPF file. Texmod was never made for GW anyway, so you should count it out of the list of things to steal your account, as it hasn't been updated since early 2006 and again was never made for GW in the first place.

Oh, i think i misunderstood you.
MBAM shouldn't pick up TexMod as a trojan.
Also, remember that SAS is an AntiSpyware, not a standalone Antivirus, and you should use it with over antiviruses.
As far as i know, MBAM is just a scanner, so you could have all three on the computer (check up if McAffee has AntiSpyware, i'm not sure about it).

Ran scans of Texmod with both Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware.
Both came up clean.
For Mapping I use the Cartography Made Easy Complete Collection (link on wiki). Again scanned with both programs, and both clean.

texmod itself using injection and packing methods that are used by malware aswell
so in some case you won't make the difference between safe texmod and infected texmod, like between a false-positive and a false-false-positive.
so the only mean to get a safe version is to get it from a trusted source that eventually provides in case of links only, hashes to check integrity of archives.

Thanks for the info so far.
What do you mean, like i know what you mean because i saw people using it in Mirrors Edge aswell. But are you suggesting to not use it then?

no, he pointed that there is - probably - no possibility of any trojan or logger in .tpf file (aka mods that texmod loads, as in mapping) and that texmod wasn't originally designed for gw, so that there's low probability of it being infected or having a keylogger specifically to hack people's gw accounts.
use it, just download it from a trustworthy source, aka wiki or friend.

Thats a line of bull, I had GMC in Tyria, Cantha & Elona before anyone made any mapping mod for TexMod. Im sure Im not the only one that has got GMC before the TexMod craze took off.

Its perfectly safe, no one would honestly have gwamm without cheating using texmod cartographer. Just download of wiki link and dont google it unless you have to. I got MalwareBytes on many cpus and it has never flagger Texmod.

This. Thank you! IMO TexMod is a bunch of crap and I personally consider it cheating.
Dude, how'd you do it then with GIMP or PS?
you either:
* need a pic of a completely explored map from someone who has already mapped 100% of it (probably using texmod, so similar 'cheating' to using one);
* have to get the fully explored map from the .dat file (i have NO idea if it's anyhow possible - if not, disregard this point; if it is, i think it's similar 'cheating' to using texmod);
* have to very carefully scrape every corner and every spot, twice or more (it IS possible to achieve, especially that the cumulative amount of explorable area is 'over 100%' - but requires very careful scraping all the edges while visiting).
if there is any other way, please enlighten me.
