bigger ignorelist
The Female Necro
i think we realy need bigger ignore list. we can have 25+ friends but only 10 ignored people.
so i was thinking of doubling the amount of people who can be ignore.
someone els who thinks we need bigger lists??

No, because you shouldn't be able to put 1,000 people on black list. You put someone on blacklist if he annoys you, scams/tries to scam you, or is specifically mean. I do agree there should be A FEW more spaces, but not "dubble" (Btw, it's spelled "Double") the ignore list.

I tried to use the current ignore list only once, it was filled with gold sellers, random QQers and mostly just people who just kept spamming my chatbox full.
Needless to say with the amount of people acting like that in GW, it was full within the first day. (Guess I attract the wrong people, or something
)
Atm though, I don't keep people on my ignore list for longer than 1 gaming session. As I don't want to be forced to remove people from my ignore list before I can ignore someone. It works fine because people usually stop spamming once they noticed they've made it to your ignore list.
But this really isn't a solution. I don't want to be forced to be forgiving complete (enter random curseword here.)
Bottom line is, the ignore list system is flawed and unusable (to me) to actually ignore people I don't want to talk to. EDIT: But please Anet, don't even consider changing the ignore list. Put your resources (if you have any, which by the lack of content updates I honestly doubt) somewhere else. For instance, in skill updates. (I don't even call them skill balances because balance has shown to be an impossible task for the live team.)

Nah. If I find someone annoying enough to put on ignore, I usually put them on for a few days then take them off. After that I never hear from them again so problem solved.
I'd just say to clean up the list. Or if you blacklist people for whatever reason, you could keep an alternate list in a text file or something similar.
If you run a lot of things and want to avoid non-payers though, I could see to where a bigger ignore list would be handier.
But I don't know, mine remains empty most of the time.

People that need ignore lists should stick to single player games.

Anyways, it does need a few more slots..but I see it as only temporary, because if you take someone off the ignore list months later and they start bothering you again..they have some serious problems and are semi-stalkers.

Why put them on ignore forever? Just remove them after an week or so. Mostly they try to talk to you a few days after whatever happened. They will forget about it later. And LOL ignore list full? Also reveals alot about your behaviour IMO.

Agreed. There are only so few places where people "spam". People don't have lives, but if they keep yelling at you, it's really easy to put them on the ignore list and keep them on. I'm sure 10 people won't be doing that to you, and if they do, you're SOL and should find a new game because you're the problem.
Just do your best to ignore what they say. No one is really forcing you to read it anyways.

I have never used my ignore list for anything >.>

List is too full? Put the person on the list that you want to ignore and delete everyone else. Chances are, all of those people you're deleting really don't have a reason to talk to you anymore anyways.

I agree that people are annoying. But to be honest, I clear my ignore list out after a couple of weeks. People generally forget about you if they're random people who pissed you off. If they're someone you know will bother you, keep them on. Otherwise, just delete them after a while.
If you're making 10+ people mad per week, errr. lol.

It's really not needed. You put someone on your ignore list, then the next day you take him off. In the extremely unlikely event that he still bothers you, you put him on permanently. You should never have 10 with this system.
Edit: and not having this system, just adding people and leaving them there, you will probably have an ignore list in the dozens before long and be wanting more. Just don't perma-ignore unless you have to.

It's been suggested before, many times. And there's no real need for it, since normally the person you put on ignore 1 day won't try to bother you again the next.
TESTIMONIAL: After over 4-1/2 years of playing, I've never had more than 3 people on Ignore at the same time, and none right now.

After a while people who deserve to be ignored usually forget you, so you can cycle them off you ignore list..in a matter of days/weeks
unless they are someone really persistent, and surely there arent THAT many people worthy of a perma black listing? eh?
Ive probably used my ignore list for maybe a dozen people tops since retail release..and only one worthy of staying there on more than a short term lease

The ignore list is fine imo, my ignore list fills up over time but by then I can remove some of the ppl that I have long forgotten. There is always the "Do not Disturb" or "Offline" settings, great for ignoring everyone =]

If you spend any time in presearing you'll realise why bigger ignore lists are necessary. I have about five (I can't remember, they've been there so long) people on permanent ignore because I just don't want to have to go reignoring them every time I stop in Ascalon City. I don't want to read their filth or stupidity or rubbishy song lyrics.
Similarly in AB outposts when you're stuck there for fifteen minutes or more talking in local and some bozos are having a capslock argument at the same time. It tends to be the same people spamming rubbish day after day, so I don't want to have to keep readding them either.
Double the current number and it'd be fine, but tbh I just don't understand why there's such a small limit on either friends or ignore - I've filled my friends list many times over over the last four years and it'd be very handy to have double the number of friends as well.
What I want more than anything, though, is the ability to write a note next to someone's name so I know who the RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO they are in six months' time when they come back online and say hi to me!
