Titles and rank discrimination are what fuels elitism and hostile attitudes and has absolutely NOTHING to do with competitive environment for higher rank players (unless the entire point of being highly ranked and skilled is owning hopeless noobs to farm fame? serves you well).
Want to have PvP titles, Anet? Sure, go ahead! Just create different districts and separate matches for different rank ranges and don't make random noobs face those r13+ spikes every day. Btw, do something about smurfing and syncing.
Dynamic account HA/SD rank would help, too, so people after a break are less likely to get thrown in the deep water, having no idea of current meta and in urgent need to hone their skills to competitive level again.
Oh wait, what? Did you just say owning helpless noobs is fun? Or, maybe you mean that noobs will learn more by being beaten by top players? I'm inclined to disagree.
In PvP you learn everything (even the basics) by winning and getting defeated by other players ... but you learn the most if they are on your or slightly higher level.
So to say, get over your elitism and understand that every player has the same right to enter a guild war or heroes ascent match and actually have fun and win there, without being forced to play lame builds. Not just you, bunch of elitist people. Guess what, everyone has the right to play a balanced team versus closely-matched people even if he is a hopeless noob. You were a one once, too.
What happened to PUGs? Get a guild or die? What? I thought only 'guild war' format originally was restricted in this way. Higher level competitive play will still be based around the guilds or enormous friend lists anyway. Just let the casuals have some fun, okay?

My proposal, pvp crowd:
Be less pathetic.

PS. Stop with 'get a guild/friends' bullshit. Most casuals HAVE NO TIME/ABILITY/COMMITMENT to take part in dedicated pvp guild, no matter it's rank. That's the point of being casual, you play the game from time to time, when you have the time, in a non-schedule manner.
Seems like some of you easily forget what it takes for each member of 8-man pvp team to attend the set schedules and keep up with the rest in terms of own skills. Just ask yourselves how many and how often pvp guilds disband for the simple reason of deadly commitment.
HA/SD/GVG aren't just for all-around-the-clock 18+ gamers which don't have to sleep in the night and enjoy talking/listening to crap over headset. Anet, learn your lessons. 'Big AB' in form of world wars in GW2 isn't your answer. Make all forms of pvp accessible for everyone.
Would be really nice if 'guild ranking' actually worked for GVG, too.
Oh btw, rant over.
Go cry me a river and flame, what noob I am or whatever. You just prove all of my points that way.
PS2. Get a ****ing balls to admit the truth.
