What are the builds that are normally played by unranked groups on HA weekends?

The same things as ranked groups, typically. But if you're asking what's easier to run, then try a balanced build or an easy spike build. Old standards can be good sometimes.

Gimmicky stuff is normally more complicated (not that balanced can't be complicated, but it depends entirely upon the players).

I'd assume that a lot of unranked players don't have mics either, which limits the amount of accurate spiking you can do w/o a macro.

Actually unranked balanced has in my experience benn difficult to pull off simply because you're playing with other unranked players who don't have a lot of experience. I would expect to see a lot of Sway builds or builds with a slurry of R/As. Actually gimmicks vary on difficulty. If your team knows what each of their roles are and is co-ordinated then gimmmicks should become quite easy. The reason most gimmicks fail is because they are just pure spike builds and as such, because co-ordination is a problem they never have clean spikes and so rarely trouble the backline. However, some gimmicks are insanely easy to pull off. Sway for example is quite easy to pull off and the 5 R/As, 1 Orders, and 2 Monks doesn't require that you have a brain to win.
