I hope this is the right forum i posted this on:
I am still quite clueless about this game, I keep seeing people talk about "pre" or "pre-searing". What does this mean? And... if there's a "pre"-searing does that mean there is a "post"-searing to?
Someone please explain!
Pre-searing?

It's not relevant for you. Pre-searing is the introduction area of Prophecies. Post-searing is the rest of Prophecies. But since you're an assassin, you've got a Factions character, so you've never been in pre-searing.

Presearing is the tutorial style area at the start of Prophecies and is only accessible to PvE characters that are started in Prophecies - once a character has left it, it cannot return. **SPOILERS** Its named that after the event of the searing, in which the Charr broke through the wall and destroyed Ascalon.
Its really a pretty area and worth exploring if you have space on your account for a new Prophecies character.

and obviously "post-searing" is all events that happen after the Prophecies tutorial area. If you take a Factions and/or Nightfall character to Prophecies, you'll be in the "post searing" stage, as they don't get access to pre-searing.
And seriously, if you have access to Prophecies, it's worth going through pre-searing to post-searing at least once. It's a beautiful area and worth doing at least once imo.

The pre searing area of prophecies campaign is similar to the shing jea island of factions campaign. In both there are easy quests, low level monsters and tutorials to help you learn game basics. But there is one big difference: An assassin born on shing jea island can always return to shing jea island and play more there. A prophecies char will not be able to return to pre searing once he left it.
