Update has worked for all characters!!!
The Mancer Man
Logged into gw and got the latest update no problems - changed characters and find the update hasn't worked for them - for example go to La and find the Dragon Festival decorations still up!!!!!!!!!!! How can I fix this???????

Maybe they haven't changed the Dragon Festival decorations in LA yet? The easiest way to tell if you've been updated is to see how many people are in the districts. If the update was done a while ago and you don't think you've gotten it yet, there won't be any people to see in the districts.

They've been gone for a while. Something is causing people to be able to launch their own private town servers up into the current GW world for no reason. It has got to have something to do with a problem in the DAT file, not anet's side.

If one person updates their client, but the other doesn't, they can be in the same town and district, yet can't see eachother.
It appears as if OP's client is reverted to before the decorations got removed from CNY. Because everyone else is using a properly updated client, he can't see anyone.
And because this happened after last nights update, one can assume OP's gw.dat has become corrupted.

The only things I can think of are
- a seriously corrupt gw.dat
- you are logging in from different computers or different installs - some of which are not updated yet.
- you are running some sort of "mirroring" software (perhaps as part of something like GWx2) that automatically takes some older gw.dat and replaces the updated one.
