Improvement of the report system

Current:
  • If you leave a PvP match before a winner is announced => 5 Dishonor Points
  • Each time you are reported for leeching. => 2 Dishonor Points
  • For each report you make that is not backed up by at least one third of your team => 2 Dishonor Points
  • All points are cleared if you do not accumulate any additional points for 60 minutes.
  • If over half your team reports a player for leeching a further penalty will be incurred preventing any XP or Faction gain during the match.
  • If you accumulate 10 or more dishonor points, none of your account's characters may enter PvP. This remains in effect for 1 minute per point.

Add:
If you report a player who has already 8 or more dishonor points it will incurred preventing any XP or Faction gain during the match for this player.

Reason:
This change will limit the benefits from constantly leeching because after a while even a single report can cut the income of XP and Faction.
The change hopefully won't harm the casual leecher because if you quit during a match by reason of an emergency you properly won't return within the next hour.

Optional:
Also add "you don't get dishonor points if the reported player already has 8 or more dishonor points" to encourage reporting of a botter, but it might be to easy to abuse.

imo this would get abused to much, say someone is a noob and no one is helping him understand, everyone reports him for leeching, even though he was trying, just so he cant play for a while... Not signed

the report system sucks anyway, i don't think this'd change that.

We all know the current system is broken but your suggestion doesn't improve or fix it. It could use a serious discussion and some good ideas though on how to fix it. You must consider the following though when doing it.

1.) Sometimes people playing in these areas do go AFK during a match for a very good reason.... OMG my kid just fell down the stairs or hell my nose started to bleed. There will be legit reasons that someone goes AFK during a match so you have to balance that with the people that abuse it.

2.) Any report system can and will be abused. For some reason I just don't like your character and even though you're gaming I decide to report you everytime because I find you or your guild offensive or whatever other reason.

Currently it says standing still is just a bug that can give dishonorable points but this should be a given in these areas. No movement for an entire game you get slammed, sit out for 10 minutes.

I would also love to see them do something about the bots but these things move and attack. Some are predictable by the skills and actions they make but I don't believe ANET has the time or ppl they need to address this issue by programming it so these actions are seen and automatically reported on accounts using them. Even if they did have something along these lines I doubt we would even hear about it.

I absolutely hate the botters and the leechers so I'm all ears for a better system but I haven't yet seen anything that would make it better without also being abused.

Any suggestion you make to address the report system is worthless if you don't at least address this line.

Yep, there's a ton of apathetic players that won't report even when they have someone standing completely mute at the start and has never moved during the game. Some are just afraid to report since they will also get dishonorable.

1.) How about a limted number of reports given to each player that they could use during a certain time period ? Give people " X " amount of reports they can use without the fear of suffering from dishonorable themselves. Any way could this be used to adjust what we have right now and make it work ?

2.) Standing still or never leaving the fort or safe zones should be an automatic sit out for the involved player, period. It's an automatic sit out and hurts nobody but someone doing nothing to start with.

3.) Joining and leaving a game early should be the same as standing still, automatic sit out.

Before trying to improve the Report, fixing the Dishonorable System should come first:

- Players have reported that they have to wait an additional 10 minutes after visiting a new PvP town, as if the hex refreshed.
- Players have reported receiving dishonor points for standing still for long periods of time. Remember to move from time to time, even if you are running a support build, such as a Bonder.
- Players have apparently earned dishonor points for ''non-consensus reporting'' even though more than a third of their team claimed to have reported the same person.
- Players have apparently earned dishonor points for not attacking for a few minutes (moving but not attacking).

?
You know, the "you cannot play for x minutes" is already implemented, I just suggest to punich repetitive leechers harder.

Maybe reduce it to one dishonor point if the reported player already has 8 or more dishonor points.

If someone reports a leecher and is the only one, then they should only get dishonor if the leecher uses a skill within the 30 seconds. This would make me feel better about reporting leechers, coz if im the only one i probably wont get burned.

Not all leechers are afk. Some are just lazy or playing other games, or downloading porn. They could easily leech and still use a still every so often. And if it is a bot that is leeching, those are extremely easy to program to use a skill every few seconds.

ANY modifications to the report system would lead to it being abused. The problem is Guildwars report system will be slow and stupid as long as its F2P, World of warcraft....(feels like a sin to say the name >__> ) has a report system but also allows you to open tickets with GMs so you can cast your ideas, your bug reports, your clipping issues, and OF COURSE! report the trolls.

Guildwars wont have this sort of system as it would cost them a good amount of cash BUT its nice to dream. haha
