I wanted to buy expansion keys in the ingame store and It asks me to link my GW account to my NCsoft Master Account, so I fill in the info and it gives me an error message saying there's a problem with my internet connection followed by the error code: 1791035.
I have no problems connecting to the internet or any game including GW itself.
Has anyone encountered this error and knows what could be going wrong?
I'm running Vista 32bit
Already sent a support form to NCsoft couple days ago but thought I'd ask here aswell.
(I tried the create a new account option aswell and it also gives me an error once I click on create account)
Problem with linking account

If you're using Firefox, try Internet Explorer. Weird things like this sometimes happen.
Bob Slydell
Try what Dzjudz said. Though, if it's firefox... disable adblock plus if you have it. If you have any other firewall running, that might be blocking the ports or addresses anet needs to go through to verify. If that dosent work give your windows hosts file a look at, might have been victim to a malicious attack or script that set some anet addresses to connect to the virtual loopback adapter, rather than network card.

Thanks for the reply I'll try to check things out, one thing,
Could you dumb "If that dosent work give your windows hosts file a look at, might have been victim to a malicious attack or script that set some anet addresses to connect to the virtual loopback adapter, rather than network card."
a bit down, I'm having a hard time trying to figure it out :P.
Edit: If I might ask how could firefox be the problem while I'm in the ingame store? does it try to open a webpage?
Edit2: What's also weird is that it does seem to recognise my NCsoft account but during the transaction process it seems to fail, if I try to enter an invalid PW or Account name, it gives me the normal wrong PW/Ac name error, it just drops connection during the transaction process.
Is there any way to link your account without using the ingame store? I can't seem to find an option on the NCsoft website

Then it's probably something shitty on their end as usual.
As for the hosts file, I wouldn't worry about it now, dosen't seem to be that.

Yeah I thought so, I have 3 computers here and getting the same message on all computers, tried connecting my pc directly to the modem but was still getting the error, I guess I'll just have to wait and see if it works some time later.
Thanks for helping anyway.

Well I'm no expert on these things. I just know that I remember having some problems with a guild wars related site (I think it was ncsoft) that gave weird errors when trying stuff in Firefox, but it worked perfectly using the add-on IE Tab to render it IE style.
Yojiro
Yeah that happens sometimes, but in this case the problem is in the store in the game itself, not the webstore on the NCsoft site. so it wasn't really webbrowser related.
Dzjudz
Well maybe you should try the NCSoft online store instead of the in-game store, or are the prices different?
Yojiro
I don't think the prices are different, But if you buy them ingame they're automatically added to your account, if you buy them in the webstore you need to add the key manually, and I've had bad experiences where keys had already been used and the company just laughs at you and calls you a liar and forces you to buy a new key, but that still doesn't fix the account linking, I can't find any option on the website to link accounts, you think I'll get the option if I buy in the webstore?
Dzjudz
Well I've bought stuff in the NCsoft Store before and it was added directly to my account, no need to manually add keys.
The way it works is: you set up an NCsoft master account. You add your GW account to it. When you buy something in the store, you need to log in to the master account and choose to which of the accounts you want the purchase to apply. Then you pay and it is added immediately. Restart GW and done!
Edit: to answer your other question: yes, you can make an NCsoft Master Account on the site I just linked and you can link your GW account to it there also.

Ok, problem solved, was an issue on their side, got a reply to my helpform which said, This is a known issue and is now resolved, and it indeed was fixed and account's now linked.
