Bots in PvP?

I can't tell whether this guy I've been playing with/against is just really, really good or if he's a bot. I made a few short clips of the matches I played against him and a few where he ended up on my team. In one of the clips, he connects on 12 straight interrupts against the other team, no misses. He targeted a Mo, then an Ele, then a Mes, and just scrolled through disrupting every one of them in succession.
I'm sure there are some who are just that good, but if there are indeed bots in PvP, should I report him?

Bots are not that smart, so no...

Bots are just as smart as they're built to be... so maybe.

It is very possible that he was botting and said people on the other team were just using the skills that he had selected said bot to interupt.

The only problem with pvp bots is that 99% of the time the human is at the controls moving and casting normally but the bot takes over for the rupts. And since it injects the dll file also very very hard for anet to detect said bot.

Sad really that people have to bot in the game to be any good at it.

Basically it would be good for you to report said person for botting but chances are nothing will happen to said person.

There's nothing keeping someone from interrupting 12 straigth skills as long as they aren't less than ,75 casttime or directly after kd's.

I agree, but his actions resembled that of a hero/hench set to interrupt. For instance, his interrupts were so perfectly timed that the opponents skills barely started casting by the time the rupt hit. Perhaps he is just lucky.

Players can interrupt good. Doesn't mean they are a bot, a trick is to edit the interface have a large casting bar. As soon as you see that large bar appear you cast your interrupt, simple.

There is a mesmer interrupt bot. I have seen it 1st hand. Same with pre nerf SF, there was a A/E sliver raptor bot. The bots exists.

What Tullzinski said.

My thread pretty much explained every aspect of botting, though focusing on RBR and snowball Arena's.

An interrupt bot is easily coded. You can make it so it doesn't interrupt 1/4's too often, you can make it so it actually misses interrupts (to avoid detection), but rather still hits every pleak on the monk. You can make it so it only interrupts when the monk goes on high set, etc...

The bot I have seen was coded to interrupt certain skills, WoH, Resilient Weapon, etc. It would even factor in with 40/40 sets on the 1/4 and 1/2 skill recharges and casts. It was quite impressive non the less.

If that's what happened more than a couple of times you're right about it since chance just doesn't work that way in the real world.
There are bots out there and mostly somewhat easy to identify, but just be sure not to become yet another retard who screams bots, cheats, hacks etc. at anyone who is just better than you thought you could be.

Hmm, I wonder if that's what it was. I, for one, am not great at interrupting anything under 3/4. Whenever I hit a rupt on someones 1/2 or 1/4, it's either luck or they're very predictible. Bit I don't see how someone can spam multiple interrupts on multiple targets 12 times in a row, interrupting them with perfect timing.

So whilst playing PvP regularly now, at certain times of the day I often run into the same people (or groups of people) in various arenas. I posted yesterday about the ranger spamming perfect interrupts, basically shutting down all casters on the opposing, or my, team.

I happened to run into this individual again this morning while playing. It just so happens that he ended up on the other team. Unfortunately I wasn't recording the match, although I don't really know what good that would have done. Anyways, back to my point, he appeared to be playing the same build, same style. 3 spammable ranger interrupts, perfect timing. Completely shut me down. Essentially shut down the Necro on my team.

While I can't confirm that he/she is a bot, it's quite obvious. He/she would not return my pms, even though they were not hostile in nature. Since losing interest in PvE, PvP has been my go-to for a leisurely 30-60 minutes or so each day. Win/lose, I don't really care. But losing to cheaters gets old.

As I see no reason to continue playing under these circumstances, I'm /uninstalling and leaving this game for good.

/anxiously awaiting GW2, hoping it's not a disappointment.

Flame away if you feel the need. I won't be responding.
