Release armor bonus packs?
TsunamiZ
GW has not had any new armor since GWEN. We're getting bored with our character customizations and looking at the same armors for years. Costumes aren't good because they are not mix and match and can't be used in PVP. So Anet, release some armor bonus packs!

Redvex
Instead of armor i'm thinking that thery're gonna to release new costumes that privide more $$$$$$$$$$$$ for Anet.
Shadow Feathers
I think they will be releasing customes as well but will more then likely be sticking to the theme of the events they have in-game such as halloween, Wintersday, ect.
vamp08
Omg yes. While some people are title RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOs I am an armor RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO. I get any elite armor set for thet profession, its an addicition!

Costume packs. 'Nuff said.

Costumes are easy to design compared to armor. Armor has to consider the different sizes of characters for each piece and how it matches with the adjacent piece (chest+legs, etc.). Consumes are a single piece with no joints to worry about. Because of this, armor design takes considerably longer to do. And it is rarely done right even then. Look at how many armor sets and weapons have clipping issues. Basic things like capes, weapons, shields, etc. will clip with armor, and as common as those things are, Anet failed to fix these before releasing the armor. I'd much rather they fix the clipping issues than make more armor with reskinned clipping issues.
Oh, and now that you read that, use search and post in the existing threads asking for more armor. You will see most people (myself included) want more armor, but it just isn't feasible tio expect it. And if they did add more armor, I'd want them to even out the sets available to all classes (more for Assassin, Ritualist, Dervish, and Paragon).

A costume can be done in a day.
The armor not only has to fit and work with the other pieces of that specific type but all other armor pieces of a specific class.
Considerably longer? yes..talking months. Think about the time it takes just done the whole set. Then looking adding the headpiece from all the other armors for clipping issues(/redesign). Think about all the combo's?

Yes, add more useful stuff to the game whilst ignoring all the broken stuff.

Why on earth would they need to buff mesmers? Just because they can't cause too much damage? The mesmer profession is not a damage dealing profession, it is a support profession. They interrupt, they shut down, generally better then any other profession, how in the hell could you say they need to be buffed?

Essentially, people want more and more for free. But how do they expect Arenanet to keep producing and maintaining the game without any income? Like I mentioned, there’s no subscription, so they don’t that steady money flowing in. And the Anet employees have to be paid – it is their actual job, after all. So why do people seem to resent that Anet wants to make money? It’s just ignorant, really.

Yes, costumes do have to mix and match with other costumes or armot, bur they DO have to “consider the different sizes of characters for each piece”, in addition to how the top of the costume works with the hair of the character and any headpiece they might wear, including headpieces from other costumes. Costumes DO have “joints to worry about”, as there is still the issue of them fitting with so many different character shapes and sizes and headgear, so it’s not as simple as you make it sound. As for Arenanet “failing to fix” the clipping issue, you have to realize that you (along with most of the playerbase, actually), seem to think that ArenaNET is a vague entity that has god-like powers over time and space. There are so many different skins and armors in the game, one of the things that is very attractive about it. With all those numerous, extremely different things of various shapes and sizes, it would be literally impossible to keep ANYTHING from clipping with EVERYTHING. And yes, shields are “common”, but there are approximately 142 different shields in the game (I just did a quick count on wiki, so there might be a few duplicates from uniques, but not many, and you get my point). So you expect that every one of those shields should be able to work perfectly with every single armor in game (for both genders), even while the characters are doing complicated movements and animations while in combat? And that’s just shields. Now consider doing the same with every single other skin of bows, swords, axes, hammers, spears, scythes, daggers, foci, staves, and wands. That’s millions of combinations, at least.
I think that it’s fantastic that there are so many great skins that they put work into developing. If you want to have no clipping, either go play Runescape or any other game with low quality graphics (so clipping isn’t even an issue, since you can’t tell), or go play a game which has no variable options to choose from for armor or weapons (the only way even imaginable to make every combination work). However, if you want to play Guild Wars, which has fantastic graphics and a ridiculous number of choices for weapon skins (and, remember, you only pay once), then having such unrealistic expectations of perfection is ridiculous. Remember, they’re a fairly small team, and the fact that they do as much as they do, for as little money as they do it, is pretty impressive.

Anyway, sorry about the wall of text, it’s just something I’ve been getting frustrated with lately. And it seems that virtually no one tries to see things from Anet’s point of view (or even a logical point of view), and if you try to, you get called a “shill” or whatever. I just get annoyed when people are ungrateful (not just ingame), and the massive prevalence of it here… well, I’ll just say it’s a big pet peeve of mine.
Anywho, I’ll stop ranting now, and go spend some time playing with my bunny.
Peace.

There is no way in hell you have every armor set for every profession in the game. Do that first before coming here and suggesting more.

I don't understand why people are opposed to Anet making money. Guild Wars does not have a subscription fee, and yet it's incredibly high-quality and constant updates happening. It makes sense for a company that gets a subscription for their games (like WoW) to have a constant involvement with the players and keep giving free updates, but Arenanet gets nothing out of their hard work (constantly evaluating and trying to fix skills, making free events like Halloween and Christmas and the Canthan New Year) except the gratification that they're making their players happy (well, some of them). While that's a noble cause and all, people tend to forget that making games is a business, not a charity. Yes, you paid for your game, but you're not still paying for it, and they have no incentive to keep you playing and keep you happy, yet they still do. All of the products that you have the option of buying, besides the games themselves, are self-contained and offer no real advantage over those who don't buy them (the Bonus Mission Pack does not offer rewards that can be traded with other players, the costumes are only aesthetic, the skill and pet unlock packs offer nothing that can't be gotten by playing normally, etc.). Yet whenever they give us something free, people complain that it’s not good enough. Maybe it’s just me, but that seems incredibly ungrateful, like getting a car for your birthday and complaining that it’s the wrong color, or the wrong brand.
Essentially, people want more and more for free. But how do they expect Arenanet to keep producing and maintaining the game without any income? In any case it's not my problem if Anet employees have to be paid.
They choose non fee business model so it's their problem not mine.
And be serious Canthan new year, halloween, wintersday are same for for years. They simply change mask.

And as for "simply changing masks", I already talked about how that isn't a simple task...
What I really don't get is why all these people who are complaining about how much guild wars sucks don't just go play a game that works the way they want. And if they have to pay a monthly fee for those games, then, well, that's the way it goes. But basically, either stop complaining and enjoy the game, or go find a game you like better. It's not like Arenanet will be losing your subscription fee or anything.

*cough cough* Have you seen the Kurzick Male Assassin 1.5k mask? When you dye it, the back of the mask does not dye (or at least that is the way it was back when I got my kurzick armor for my assassin, and it remained that way for a long time). And it was very noticeable to me, and it pissed me off, and I very quickly replaced it with an Imperial Mask. Or another example: both regular and Elite Luxon male elementalist gloves clip with the hand. I learned of that, and because of that, I used different gloves, because I cannot stand to see such clipping. Or another example: Monk Male Norn armor clips when the male monks left arm swings back. Such issues are signs of poor design choices and laziness, and they are not acceptable. For most players, armor is extremely important to how they express their aesthetic tastes in-game, often more so than how their character's face looks (my warrior's face is covered by elite platemail). To trivialize such an important component of role-playing and players' identification with their characters is foolish.
I can understand if Warrior Primeval Armor clips with some shield, it sucks, but I don't have to use that shield, or I can use different armor (although the designers did not have to add spikes that they should have known would clip with shields). But getting the armor right is fundamental, and when they don't, it reflects badly on them.
I have no problem with them charging for costumes. I wish they would make past pre-order bonus weapons and shields, and past event hats (like the Tengu helm) available for purchase (I ordered the Factions pre-order but it did not get to me in time, so I did not get a Tengu helm, and it pissed me off, and still does). I much to prefer to buy extra content, when I want it, than a subscription model. If I don't want something, or if I don't have time to enjoy it yet, I don't have to pay for it. That is what I like about Guild Wars over games like WoW

Kopa The Demon King
If armor is being added...Dervish and paragons have the least amount of armors, haveing NONE in factions and proph, Assassins and ritualists have armors in all but Prophecies, and Proph classes have the most sets.
You can tell the more pressed guildwars got for time on releases as there were more armorsets per class in proph than there was in nightfall, or factions.
I want to see Prophecies armor for Sins rits, dervs and paras, and i want to see factions armors for dervish and paragons.
BUT on that note, it wont happen, they will release costumes, think of how much money guildwars made overnight from that costume pack release. Its a massive cash explosion in terms of what they could use. they need to fund the guildwars 2 and guildwars development and maitenence somehow, and i think that new costumes will come out for the same price as the grenth and dwayna raiments.
(personaly i think this is a great ideato continue on building)
PERSONALY i would want to see the following costumes
Vanguard/Ascalon armor
Melandru, Balthasar, and Lyssa costumes
Suit/tux, Dress/Gown
Maybe a couple amuseing ones as well? I loved mixing the dragon mask with the dwayna raiment, and i also liked being a warior with a beard, the bison crown and the dwayna raiment and act like the burger king XD
TONICS should be focused on......I want a margonite tonic so bad Q.Q
ANYWHO! armor would be well accepted but it will pull away from funds, and so will everything else added to the game, with exception to the costume packs, because those seem to drag in quite a bit of cash.

No. They're already charging for costumes. We don't need them charging for armor too.
As much as I think all of us would like to see new armor (especially for professions that only have a few sets), I seriously doubt it'll ever happen.

Your argument would be valid if this was an issue of achievements, if the suggesting player did not already put every single prestige armor into the HoM for every single profession.
@OP: I'm fairly certain that the Live Team has zero artists at their disposal. The Costumes likely only made it in because they came with a price attached, and because they were made to fit every class with one set. If anything happens in the future with armor, it will likely follow this format, and there won't be a great deal more of it before GW2's release.

New armor would be cool but not bonus packs that require players to spend more $$$. I say add another armor set to several outposts like marhans and wherever else.

How about instead of new armors allowing chrs to access a diff professions armor but at ar that matches the professions standard armor - eg monk with war armor at ar 60 not 80.
Can it be done ? no idea but if you have a diff chr armor on your inv doesnt the look change - eg female ele armor changes to male style armor.
Maybe if the idea was used then also change how it can be dyed or its base color so eg primarty warriors have the normal armor dye method where other profs have the dye area changed.

And you can keep chuckling all you want. Making costumes is easier. I know that some of the costumes were done in a day. Did they get a little extra work in later on them to help with major clipping issues...yes sure..
Why do you think costumes are so inviting for anet to implement? Many other games do it. It issss an easy way to bring in more money at very little cost to them. If it wasnt easier...THEY WOULDNT DO IT. Wts a brain for those who dont think its easier than making more armor.
The modeling for the costumes are completely differerent than the modeling for the armors.
If you ask any of the artists at Anet, they will most certainly tell you that clipping is something like the armoring system in a game like guild wars WILL NOT be completely eliminated considering whats all involved in making these armor pieces. That includes deadlines/timelines given to them by their employer.
If given a "open" amount of time to work on clipping...could they get it worked out to where there was no clipping at all? YES they could. Does that fit in the budget restraints of a free to play game? NO.
MithranArkanere
Costumes are relatively easier to make than armors, since you only have to make two parts instead 5.
Just add more customes.
