Solo Farming Vaettirs (A/Me or A/E) With The Updated Shadow Form

What kind of times are you looking at?
At this point I would think the ele run is quicker now without the movement penalty. I haven't tried out the sin bars yet but I think the ele is faster.

Anyone use something different for the ele i use tenai's crystals and i sub in storm djinns haste instead of EBSOH.

Anyone use something different for the ele I have to second the use of Teinai's Crystals, it speeds the run up considerably. However, I'm very unhappy with Sliver Armor, even at 16 Earth magic, the huge elemental armor of the Vaettir reduces each sliver to 7 per hit. No doubt it's better with EBSoH, but I prefer Storm Djinn's Haste for the run, and to make rounding the mobs up faster. I think I'm going to end up swapping Sliver Armor out for Arcane Echo again.

Oh, and the first run I did (which was the first one I've done in months) ended up taking less than five minutes, which was the "age" on those screenshots, so I think that with practice, the Obsidian Flesh version will squeak out a win in the speed race against Shadow Form. Which is nice, for once.

I'm still not sold on Ether Nightmare/Cry of Pain for an Elementalist. It makes sense for Perma to slip the degen in under the damage cap, but Obsidian Flesh doesn't have that limitation. If it's pure Degen you want, Radiation Field does it better with only one skill slot, and if it's damage, just Arcane Echo Crystal Wave/Teinai's Crystals.

If it's those loot-scaled glacial stones you're after, sliver armor is a vastly better compromise. Spending minutes rounding everything up and having everything die within a second of each other is the last thing you want to do for loot scaled goods. I don't think anyone farms Vaettir for Glacial Stones; more for those tasty event items and random weapon mods. Neither of which are affected by loot scaling, so quick killing is the way to go.

I can clear them all in 4 mins so same as OP. Just gotta make sure you group them all up before you take too much damage. Thats similar what ive been using except ss rank 9 and lux rank 6

and ive got around 5 mins a run and i have to say - ty anet for making vaettires seriously easy for us sins now :P.
The 2 sin enchants last 60 secs and only to fuel dmg reduction - use mantra of earth after recasting sf as Dp is a stance and will cancel the other out.
Its so much easier and relaxed now - still try to try the me/a version as mesmer needs a lot of eotn work done on her.
Damage wise - i use a celestial axe of enchanting with +5 nrg and a shield with +30 hp and 10ar vs earth and i take very little dmg.

I have been using E/Me .. Gotten the time down to 3mins

+3 Earth on headpiece and you should be fine. Is Channeling really needed? (vs. say, waiting til energy bar is filled by Mantra before firing your last Crystal spell?)

Only, I was thinking along similar lines... but with Mindbender in that Channeling slot. I can't try it out for myself til tonight.

Build doesnt have the capability to easily make it into jaga moraine, them huge yeti things pwn you... It should be entirely possible to reach Jaga without aggroing a single mob.
