Alright, heres the deal... I have been in the hospital for the past 2 1/2 weeks with a severe neck injury do to a wrestling match in preperation for our school to go to state... So, I'm only getting back to Guild Wars as of this day and have a statement regarding aggro:
Anywho, I have just created a warrior on Factions (as you get to the other continents (Tyria, Elona) much quicker in Factions) and am wondering if anyone has any tips on all aspects aggro from a Warrior's point of view. I seem to have a hard time holding aggro as most of my Guild Wars characters have been mostly casters (except the odd of the bunch which is now a level 20 D/Mo). But, yeah any tips are much appreciated. Oh, and I have already read the warrior guide on this forum and it's tips for aggro plus have read all of the articles on the wiki, so please don't say: "Wiki is your best bet" or "Google is your friend".
Thanks In Advance
Have Any Tips For A Canthian Warrior Regarding Aggro?

warriors aren't really meant for tanking except for a select few team builds for elite areas, because it is hard to hold monsters attention. try and do damage instead

As long as you're not doing certain extremely difficult areas, tanking is mostly nonexistent in GWs. Since there are not any skills which attract agro to you, your only remaining options are to wall hug or snare them. Tank and spank tactics are much less effective than just pewpewing shit to death because of the time it takes to agro, except, as stated, in certain elite areas where the sheer size of the mobs makes tank and spank quicker. Instead, focus on doing large amounts of damage quickly. Warriors, as physical damage dealer, can deal massive DPS by abusing buffs from heroes/casters, such as SoH, GDW, splinter weapon, orders, etc. PvX has a fairly decent selection of hero bars that will allow you to steamroll HM with ease without having to resort to becoming a tank.

Thanks for the tips, but I do have a couple more questions:
What would you recommend as a D.D. besides an elementalist, say maybe a /N?
Is a ranger a good class to do Damage/Second?
Thanks again and I appreciate the responses...

To start, there's not really anything to "holding aggro". If you want to try and take a little bit more of the punishment, try flagging your henchmen back to retreat them and hope that all the baddies don't give them chase. Be careful in doing this though, because they might not stop to cast and give you a heal or something if you take too much punishment.

Thanks Marty, and that's kind of what I've been doing and I just thought that it was like in other games liKe WoW (yeah, yeah, I know, G.W's is nothing like WoW), so I thought I was doing it wrong.

Ranger's a pretty neat class, not sure what you'd get out of it by taking it as a secondary to Warrior except some unnecessary survivability.

1. Correct pulling. You should have a bow and no one else should be in the little bubble in your radar.
2. Save yourselves. Agro is often based on HP and Armor so giving your other chars extra armor increases the mobs chances of going after you. 3. Don't use AoE too often on melee mobs in HM, they scatter. Marty Silverblade
Tbh, there really isn't a point in putting effort into holding aggro for 95%+ of the game. If you have semi-competent team members/hero builds, you can get away with just going in after the most important target. However, if you're running some kind of AoE thing (involving Mark of Pain, Whirlwind Attack, and Hundred Blades when you get it) then it can be worthwhile to trap melees around a corner. It's pretty easy, and you'll get used to doing it when you know how.

The easiest thing for aggro control is a speed-boost and a shadowstep. I use Dash and Wastrel's Collapse on my assassin - obviously WD is worthless on your guy. You use the speed boost to put some distance between you and the rest of your team and then when you reach shadowstep range, you use it to quickly jump right into the fray. That way, by the time the foes spot you - you are already on them AND the rest of the team is nowhere in sight, making it much easier for the foes to focus on you only.
Alternatively you could just flag your heroes a bit back while you run into the monsters, but that's boring! Kenzo Skunk
