G!! Don't give up! I am also pushing it to the deadline. lol, might even end up submitting the night of the 15th US Central Time.

Tommy: I like the Kuunavang surprise! And yeah I think they come out of eggs. The problem you mentioned about her legs is not even noticeable anymore.

Here's my progress as of last night. Will try to fix her left arm, put something on the ridges and fix the rendering in the background and yeah the pic is all dark because I haven't even put the highlights/lighting yet =P.

Almost done at least... one final WiK before I put up the final draft:

Think I'm going to remove the globe in the centre - too distracting.

Wow G, that's looking REALLY REALLY GOOD! I love the dragon idea. The rendering on the guy on the left looks amazing and the background. I assume you're still gonna work on rending the guy on the right and the dragon. Can't wait for the finished piece.

this is how far I got to last night. Still got some fixes to do such as her arm, hand. I'll finish it tonight

That dragon is really cool G! (lol so funny calling you G. ) Really good. Gogo finish last bits

Looking nice Ravenhawk, would make her lips a bit wider though, she looks like she ate a sour prume And whats the think on the back? is it a mask?

I like her lips - She looks like she's concentrating on something... or someone.

I love the hair...I must have taken ages to get it that perfect.

Not even close to what I was aiming for - But I need sleep and by the time I wake up the deadline will be over (I think)...soooo:

Artist Name: G (it seems to have stuck around here )
Artworks Name:The honoured guest The bridge and sunn's right arm are a bit 11th hour.. I can still see me touching it up for days to come aswell

It turned out waaay different from my original vision - But I'm not too disappointed with the final piece.

Also thanks to you guys I learnt a lot - So a big cheers to you all for putting up with my constant spamming of this thread

I think its safe to say scenery is more my caliber than people though hehe.

Next time I'll pay more attention to these things so I have more time in advance

and now...it's 3am...zzzz

Wow, I love that bridge Mr G!

Guess it's my turn:

IWANTTOENTER! D:
Artist Name: Ravenhawk, character by Omens
Artworks Name: Canthan Nights

Artist's Notes:

As soon as it was Omens' turn to get a commission, I immediately realized that theme he requested fits the Canthan Workshop contest:
If I remember it correctly, Omens wanted something "Action-y and has a Canthan/Asian feel".

Since I started my commissions thread, I knew that anatomy, action poses, foreshortening and backgrounds are my main weaknesses. I can't say I am good at any of those right now but I am still working on it. Those are pretty much what I wanted to achieve in this piece. Although the pose was more subdued/stealthy than action-y, the angle and overall anatomy really challenged me (In fact, I still see stuff that I need to fix but the deadline is already passed so I will not update that entry lol, just the one that I send to omens later).

I also tried drawing the background this time instead of using custom brushes or screenshots. I used photoshop's blur tool to emphasize the foreground from the background and try to denote depth and distance. I always like dramatic lightings and it's also one of the things I enjoyed doing the most while doing this piece.

Special thanks to Omens for letting me use his badass ritualist I really had a lot of fun and thank you for the opportunity to join in this contest.

Very nice submissions...looks like the judges will have a hard time deciding. the celestial dragon looks great, like a screencap of guildwars the animated series (but not in a bad way) The rit/assa too, the lighting and color composition is well done..gj =D

Good luck to everyone. I had fun participating.

I also added an additional description to my entry, more like personal notes/thoughts on the entire process of creating my artwork.

Thnx to Alacrity we have another prize catagory, The Growth Reward
Also she donated even more gifts of the traveler for the party!

Wait.. Party?! Yes Party!

Ok so last time we hosted a party after the winners were announced and I think I speak for everyone when I say that was alot of fun. We played all sorts of games and there were even more great prizes to win. Therefor there should really be a celebration this time again! But... I'm going on vacation coming sunday, so I will not be able to host this party if you all would like it to happen anytime soon. If I return from vacation I would be more then willing to do so.

Therefor I want to ask you? Would you prefer the party like this weekend, a week after that, or can it wait till I've returned? In case you want it quicker I leave it to the comunity to pick someone from the crowd to arrange it. Please let us hear your opinion about this

Lastly I adjusted the prizes a bit. I'm afraid I will not receive the donation of YSJ as he seems to have left these forums. A new prize catagory and the First 3 prizes are equalized a bit, because everyone did so great! Thankyou all!

Ok folks time to arrange stuff.

We know who won the prizes from the workshop, but there is more to be won !! Time for a party to hand out the prizes and for alot of fun and games. I already have quite some travelers gifts to hand out thnx to Alacrity and some game prizes ready myself, but if you have something that could make someone happy, please feel free.

So... Partytime!! I was wondering if there would be people looking forward to help me host the party. I could use some sceduler (my weak point is having some braintroubles considering timezones ), someone to organize when what event will be. Would be nice if we could find a time and a date that as many people as possible could be on. Secondly we want to play games again ^^ If you know a fun game you want to host, maybe higher-lower or some other fun game, please let me know and I'll fedge you some prizes to hand out. I'll host Trivia again this year, as I found that alot of fun to do last year, but ofcourse that doesnt mean someone else can't do it aswell!

So let me know how you would like to contribute, your original ideas and your fun festive inspirations!

Jeez, this contest completely passed my mind when I was MIA for those few weeks. Congrats to the winners and everyone who participated.

As for this little get-together, I'm fine with anytime. We'll have to see what time works for the others on here.
