new computer

so, my old pc isn't suitable to play games anymore, so i decided to get an entirely new one, instead of upgrading. i already had my eyes on a acer pc that looked ok to me. here are the specs:
acer aspire M5810
cpu: intel core i5 750
memory: 6gb DDR3 SDRAM
hdd: 750gb
GPU: nvidia gt320 1gb
OS: windows 7 premium 64 bit
monitor: iiyama 22" 1920x1080 full hd
my main concern is the gpu: mainly, will it play the latest games (maybe crysis, anno 1404, aion) at medium?
i will upgrade later on, but will it do fine at that resolution for like, a year?
any other thought on the computer? oh yes, important detail: the pc has to be prebuilt, i can't build it myself, my parents won't let me.
thanks

gt320 isnt a very good gaming card, I would wait for the new cards and get an GTX470 or 480 and go with an i7 rest looks fine

core i5 is every bit as good as i7 for gaming, and no that video card won't do very well in any new/recent game at that high of a resolution. Drop the res. down to something like 1366x768 and it would probably be ok at medium or higher settings in most games.

Getting parts that don't work well together, or frying something, when you build your own - that's wasting money.
@OP - I'm not a big fan of Acer. Acer is one of those companies whose quality and performance varies too much for my liking. But, outside of that, that system seems powerful enough except for the graphics card. That card may not even satisfy you now, let alone for a year.
It would be better overall to get something around the same price with a little less RAM (2-4 gigs) and a smaller hard drive (500g) but a better graphics card.

Lol. You're not wasting money by buying prebuilt. Sometimes prebuilt is actually cheaper.

Edit: Why won't your parents let you build it yourself, it's very easy. You can save so much money doing so. 90% of prebuilt computers have a weak video card and a poor power supply.

I may order this pc, but when it arrives, i would change the gpu to something that would be stong enough. will a 500w psu support a radeon 5770 or a gts 250? is it a good idea?
links to other systems are very much welcome, but please mind that i live in belgium (shipping possibilities).

Yes, a 500watt power supply will support an HD5770 or a GT250. The GT260 would be closer to the 5770 in performance, if you are comparing prices/specs.

I've decided to change the graphics card in this computer. My only problem now is: should i go with the 5770 or a gtx 260? i'm leaning towards the 260 because i've never owned a radeon card before, and i've had good experiences with nvidia. so which is the better choice?
edit: after looking around a bit, the 5770 indeed seems like a better choice, expecially since i only have a 500w power supply, and i suppose it's more future proof with directx11 features.

5770, it runs cooler and requires less power than the gtx 260. The gtx 260 beats the 5770 on some video games by a very slim percentage, like 1-5%.
Both cards will be able to run crysis at medium at 1080p, but the 5850 will be able to play all those games max at 1080p.
5770 is 30-50$ cheaper than the gtx 260.
You have to make sure that both of these cards will be able to fit in your case.
Gtx 260 is 10.5 inches
5770 is 8.5 inches
Gtx needs 2x 6 pin connector and 500w psu
5770 needs 1x 6 pin connector and 450w psu (Get the vapor-x edition or sapphire with the v2 cooler)

alright so the final setup is:
CPU: i5 750
memory: 6gb DDR3 SDRAM
hdd: 750gb
GPU: radeon Gygabite HD 5770 1gb
OS: windows 7 premium 64 bit
PSU: 500w stock (don't know what brand acer uses in their pc's)
monitor: since the card costs extra, i'll use my brother's old 19" LG monitor for the time being, and then i'll buy a 22" samsung monitor in about 2 months or so. It's in promotion at my local hardware dealership.
thanks for the help!

I'm wondering how are they going to get the memory to run in dual channel with 6 gigs of it? 2x1 gig sticks in the first 2 slots and then 2x2gig in the final 2?
