Dwayna/Grenth Costumes worth it?
Welthas
Has anyone boughten these, I was thinking of doing so.. but don't know how they would look in-game.
Would anyone suggest them?

I bought them when they were 10 bucks for both, I like them well enough. Mostly I bought them due to the fact I find all but 2 male Elementalist armors hideous, and the Grenth Visage goes excellent with Necro Norn.
The costumes in my opinion don't dye very well (Grenth's at least, Dwayna's dyes much better.)
Don't know what the current price is for each, have not been in the online store since purchasing them.

I thought they became unavailble after christmas.

They cover up farming armour rather well. Or when you have to swap out a piece of armour for some reason. I like the female monk with Grenths and sunnies. It all comes down to whether you like the look of it or not.

i bought them when they first came out i dont think they are worth it because alot people has them so i dont wear mines :P
Lanier
I wouldnt suggest them b/c you have to pay real money for them and they arnt worth it imo. Then again, others would say they are worth the real money. It all really comes down to each person's individual opinion.
Then again, this all is probably a moot point because im pretty sure they are not buyable anymore.

You can still buy the costumes, but they are now $6.99 each. The special of both costumes for $9.99 ended in January. I bought them and like the Grenth one best.
Welthas
Alright, thanks everyone and yeah.. I made sure they were still available to buy before I posted.

If you're planning on getting GW2 then I would recommend buying them to continue pumping aNet with sufficient money for them to finish it faster/with better results. :]

I have not purchased the costumes but they do look nice. You should buy them if you really want them. Upon release I would say about 1 out of every 15 people had a Grenth or Dwayna costume, this was just my own observation.

At first when I saw the costumes, I thought "Maybe I'll buy these." Now, I am this: "No freaking way would I waste money on those pieces of ....." well, you know lol
Dwayna's costume for male characters I think make them look like poofs or sissies. Although I have thought it make them look like a "Pimp" lol I guess it looks ok on female characters, but I wouldn't be caught wearing that thing.
Grenth's costume doesn't look bad on male or female characters, but why throw away $10? This reminds me of buying garbage crap for an avatar on Gaia online. I can think of plenty of ways to spend money alot better than this...

They weren't bad looking. I might have got them if I still played the game.

Oh, I forgot to mention. If you only want one of the 2 I recommend the Grenth costume. I tend to like it much better than the Dwayna costume. :]
pinkeyflower
They're alright and I suggest the Grenth ones, but the only reason to buy them, in my opinion, is to get rid of horrible looking armour.
asdfpoiu
That's because that's about the only possible "use" the costumes can have. Although, honestly, I don't think they look that great either.
Yawgmoth
I wouldn't recommend buying any of them to anyone - they're very common so you won't look special/unique and all they do is saying "look at me, I spend real cash on some stupid ingame clothes" which may get you /point /laugh'ed at ingame.
And no, you're not helping in GW2 development by buying those, if they made you believe that then lol, a marketing success.

Lol, that's 1 way to look at it... I didn't buy and don't plan to. I think Dwayna costume is hideous. And Grenth was cool for the first day, but now there's far too many of them. It's like when FoW was rare for a few months and now everyone has it. The exact same thing happened with these except a lot quicker!

Are they worth it? I can't really speak for you, since it's an opinion question. Depends whether you like them, and whether you mind spending real money on something that is purely cosmetic rather than affecting gameplay.
I would suggest having a stroll around Kamadan or Lion's Arch to see how they look in-game, then decide.

For the same price of a big mac combo, you can permanently make your (female) characters look elegant, or your male characters look silly. It's worth it.
Trinity Fire Angel
i think its worth it. apart from the female Ele Ascalon armour (the tiny mini skirt armour that;s white - L20 from Kaineng as apposed to the L1 amour from pre-searing), there is no other female armour that i like in GWs. So for me, a new hair-style and a Dwayna dress was worth it. ok, i am a bloke, but i like my sexy hot ele.
Ele in Dwayna... it looks the same for any character.

In my opinion, they aren't worth the money, so I didn't buy them. I didn't spent hours getting material and money for a nice armor combo and carefully selected dye-mixes to cover it all up with a costume.
Neo Atomisk
Personally, I'm not going to buy them unless I find $10 on the ground today.

After playing this game for almost 5 years, having al the parts, investing
about €150 and more then 3000 hours i think the game is worth every cent.
So i bought the costumes and it dit not really raise the price pro playinghour very much, but gave a little new twist to the game i still play till GW2 arives.
For me and all my characters (12) its worth it.

I bought them because I had some money left over on a disposable credit card, didnt get much use out of them really tbh. still...
