Loading game on laptop
luckyny7
I want to know if I have the game loaded on my PC can I load it using the same key on my laptop. The only reason I ask is because I travel a lot with my job and I get withdrawals from playing the game.

Yes you can. Just load the client on any other machine and log in like usual.

It's an online game account, it can be used on any installation, since GW is just software, there is nothing personal stored in the dat, no keys, authentication.. nothing (email and char name IS if you have it checked but that is really nothing relevant just there for quick use and easily changed) but no, installations of GW are purely useless software unless you log on with an actual account.
So to answer your question. Yes.
Also, as long as your laptop can handle GW, you can play it fine.

Easiest way to do this is to copy all the GW files from your PC to laptop, then just run GW.exe on the laptop. One thing though - make sure you change GW to a resolution and anti-aliasing setting (F11) that your laptop can handle before copying or you may be stuck in the situation where you need to change the resolution every time you start GW on the laptop.

you sure can
i have played this wonderful game on both my desktop and laptop...
but for the last year, i have only used my laptop because my desktop's graphics card bit the dust, rather harshly i must say.

Be sure to copy over your Skill Templates. These are in the Guild Wars folder (in Documents\Guild Wars for Vista and Windows7; in Programs\Guild Wars for Windows 98/XP) and are kept on your computer not the server. It's very annoying to realize you don't have access to your templates. I keep my .dat file and templates on a flash drive for emergency gaming.

(and yeah it great to take a game with you when you are in a strange hotel in a strange city with nothing else to do).
