TOPK Farm for ecto's

Hey no problems guys its a discussion forum I threw it out there for poeple to try. THose times are including zoning towns etc...its not bad in my books.

I've done some smite farms took me about 30 mins with warrior/rit build and was averaging 1 or 2 ectos so not so great and a friend was getting the same had a few runs with no ecto at all both of us. smites are 1:50 drop rate so how many are there down there anyone got a count??

I did a planes clear with my sos rit every single last thing on there and got one ecto! sure we cant base it on one run and if theres about 200-250 foes up there and the drop rate is 1:50 which i suspect it is then u would get about 4-5 an hour, from what ive read on the new planes redux build. We need to compare things properly not just talk about a few good runs.

The 8-10 mins smite runs? i'd like to see that

My numbers are dinkum some people like to brag a little on their times and drops. In theory planes would be averaging 4 to 5 ectos so it all depends on the speed poeple can clear it and that includes the chamber and getting up there and the scrolls are now 1.9k to get in. didnt the guy who posted the build say it takes him an hour?

With more practise if i got 30 runs in one hour thats 180 foes killed how many are on the planes 200? if it takes one hour and the mindblades drop ratesa re the same as banished it wont be far off will it?

What I like about this farm as well as most of my other farm build I use it that it is pretty mindless. You don't have to pay attention the whole time and you can do other things. That is what I like, if you do make a mistake or lag out you don't lose the entrance fee to UW. Just did 3 runs this morning. Maybe took 10 minutes to zone in out etc and got one ecto and a couple purples. Just another viable ecto farm for those looking for one.

Give or take, it was a bit chaotic on the chaos planes , got 3 ectos nice..

Total 204 ecto droppers if all drop rates are 1:50 the average should be 4 ectos a run.

Anyone got any times for the new redux runs?

zodiac meter; I thought u thought farming was borring, ecto rate stays the same.
all builds are generalky nm for ectos because no difference in drop rate.
nice buikd op quite fast but topk is useless for ecto

Just thought I'd chuck some more data on the pile.
"Same build" just use Way of Master and Critical agility as my energy management, but still Cry of Pain and Ether Prodigy as only source of damage.

Time: 60min
Runs: 24 (getting faster as I go)
Kills: </=144 (on a couple of runs I only killed 5/6 due to scattering)
Ectos: 3 (1 on my 11th run and 2 on the 13th)

So that works out at 3 ectos per hour at an approximate ratio of 1:48

This run works fine for me because I want quick access without need to "book" a time slot to complete a longer Farming run.

Will continue recording to see if my figures come inline with gmonster's over time.

I've done about 10 post-update runs now in plains and I have yet to complete them faster than 1 hour and 10 minutes (the Dreamriders really slow stuff down). Anywhere from 2-5 ectos a run, averaging about 3 per run (that's killing all spawns in plains).

Just a little more info on the current ecto farms.

I've got my runs down to 2 mins thats including zoning so 30 runs an hour is possible. 180 killed.

I wait at the wall till the banished come back in range then hop over and run to the west wall until they(banished) move together then run back to where u hopped in and they line up nicely...even if u jump in and they are all around u i run away first as they will scatter if u stay there..

Thing i like about this is u can jump on and do a few runs till u get an ecto if u havent much time to farm .

last few days data..

day1 4th run one ecto in 8 mins
day 2 10th and 20th 2 ecto 40 mins (meh unlucky)
day 3 sixth run 12 mins
day 4 runs 5 and 10 2 ectos 20 mins
day 5 11 runs no ecto gave up

Good for a quick farm...on average u should score one ecto in 9 runs.

wts plains full clear ~25mins, and everything there has a 4% chance to drop an ecto, so 1:25, should be uhh 8e per run or something?

Great run.. 1st run: 1 ecto. If I'd never do this again my ratio would be 1:1 or 100%

What I like abou this farm is that its so easy I do it on two accounts. Thereby doubling my drop rate per hour

i wonder why pple still think tombs is worth the time?? let alone the anti farm code that messes ur regular drops

a full planes clear (+ the way there of course) can get u 15+ ecto's
but if u 1st spend all yer time rezoning tombs then u'll be lucky to get more then 2. how's that for yer %'s?

I'm going to try plains. But a/me is bad. U can only farm the ledge right. With my a/d build I can farm all terrorwebs and dreamriders in 4 minutes. I think someone posted an build on youtube. It's still not as good as plains I heard. I average 3-5 ectos an hour with a/d..

15+ ectos why do people talk such rubbish!? maybe one lucky run and maybe 1 or none.

Last 3 plains clears 1 , 5 and then 4 ectos...

Theres only 3 more ecto droppers on the 1st level , if it takes 2 mins for 6 on the ledge and 4mins for 9 foes its actually less efficient to kill them all..

just found a way to speed this up.. use wastrels demise instead of spirit of failure if u are low on energy u can cast sf without deadly paradox on the last cast.

Wastrel's wont scatter them , it does 8+16+24+26+26(capped). 3 secs recharge for 5 energy.

Just ball them and use wd and cop then ai + ether nightmare and then wd wd + cop and they are dead... very fast..

Am I particularly lucky with TOPK farm? i got an ecto every 3-4 runs.....*_*

There's no need to shadows step to them...just hide behind that corner near the bridge so spirit of failure trigger perfectly and you don't need to take dmg....shadow step when last mob health is low and collect

i know its kind of offtopic, but how do you farm planes in just 1 hour or less?

Plains farm was nerfed, the specters now have leech signet which goes through all forms of spell protection. I don't think there is an efficient plains farm that takes under an hour.

I only just found out about this run (topk) yesterday and farmed there(NM) for 2-3 hours. What a great learning experience it was, I got to learn how to perma & how to farm ecto's! From the 3 hours of muddling I got 7 ecto's, and more confidence in my own abilities to go and learn new builds. A great place to farm for beginners, but now....I wanna learn more sin runs!!

For all my Ranger friends, here's a fun one that's both easy and efficient.

Two ways to do it:

If you're doing it with the hero, park him on the stairs and have him cast Zypher, serpants quickness, and symbiosis. You yourself cast winnowing and shroud of distress. Run towards the right ledge, hit shadow form just before you get near the agro range, then walk along that wall under the bridge. Shadow-step up to the fellas on the other side of that bridge, then the ecto droppers should bunch up nicely. Hit stability, shadow form, whirling defense, and then feign neutrality if you think you need it. They all die, takes under 2 minutes =]

It's funny, I tried this and on my first try I got an ecto!

This build also works great if you wanted to farm the first two waves of snowmen in the Snowman Dungeon.

This got nerfed. No more chaos ledge farms for ectos. They replaced the dream riders for graspings.
