I, too, was greatly disappointed with the Paragon changes in the last skill update. I love my Paragon, but the number of useful and viable skills for many areas of the game that I enjoy has dwindled more and more over time.
I would agree with Tenebrae that Motivation skills and the lack of an indicator showing that an ally is affected by an echo, etc. are two of the most glaring problem areas that Paragons face right now. Angelic Bond might even see a revert of sorts once it's not so "undesirable for those using it," as the developer notes mentioned on that fateful day of Dec 14th, 2008.
Also, though, I believe that a large-scale change in how most chants work would make a great impression on a Paragon's viability in various areas. My idea is that some could be buffed while making them targeted (some of the "anthems," for instance), while others be extended (like Ballad of Restoration, which heals for less health than Protective was Kaolai, has a longer recharge in PvP, and is even more conditional--earshot radius and the party members must take damage within 10 seconds). This would change chants from "shouts with cast times" into a variation of weapon and item spells, which I think could be greatly expanded upon.
What say you to my idea? Leadership's primary benefit may need to be changed up to fit with the new skill functions, but that's all part of the rework, right?
