Is it just me...?
Benderama
hey, not sure if this is the right section and all so sorry in advance D:
has anyone else noticed that there are more players in Guild wars at the moment? or at least more players outside of major towns. today i was going around elona and cantha and i noticed outposts like HzH, kodash bazaar and some further in game mission outposts had quite a few people in (none of the missions were Zquests). i've also seen more threads on guru asking about startgin GW. so again: is it just me or are there actually more people logging into guild wars?

Maybe they have been crystal desert outposts with people going to farm some Jawbones for Nick?
I haven't noticed any increase, but rather a sad slow decrease with every month. But it's not anything dramatic. It's just GW is a mere shade of what it was even 2 years ago.

I haven't been seeing more people play GW. Pretty much all outposts that are not main ones are empty. The population of GW is decreasing every day.

Checked. Yes, more than usual at the moment. Special weekend of some kind? Checked around Nightfall, Prophecies, and Factions. Plenty in Fort Aspenwood.
New games of recent sort of played out maybe. Everyone comes back. Or, ANet has fielded new bots to give the impression of more players. heh heh.

Do they all have jibberish names, run towards signs, and move in an awkwardly similar fashion?
If so, then they're simply bots.
Either way, those people are probably either doing guild runs, soloing, or H/Hing things because PUGing is simply and forever out of the question [because H/H listen; real players bring baed builds, lie, Leeroy the monsters, piss everyone off, throw hissy fits because healers couldn't keep up with their fail, and the list can go on and on and on and...].

its spring break for a lot of the kids...maybe some are playing gw this weekend?
There are usually more people playing on weekends than during the week as well.

Give it a week or two and the population will go right back down.

^ It's Spring Break for most of the kids in my Ally and they're all online (I just checked). Personally, I would have gone and done something for a week at their age, but whatever.

Guild Wars is still as dead as ever and steadily declining.

Actually, spring breaks around the US are rather staggered, so a higher-than-normal population could be present for quite a few weeks into the middle of April.

No noticeable increase here GW is dead still in population. It seems to get a spike when there are EASY Nicholas items to go after or some HOLIDAY special like we just had with St. Pattys Day. If anything has grown though it's the population of NOOBS as most of the veterans have left. Fort Aspenwood is running over with them today. Gah I never seen so many stupid people in one place in all my life.

eh honestly in major towns i dont notice any difference.. but when you get into higher end game its really noticable( i acctualyl got a pug earlier for the gate of pain mission, somethign i couldnt acomplish 3 weeks ago).

Zmissions are still pretty much alive. You never fail to get a group as long as you stick to the mission of the day.
Reborn007
You will most probably find that there are more people in towns as there aint much sustainable running anymore and it's back to the daily ginding of titles. There used to be 3 districts at doomlore, umbral grotto, TOA and many other. The first two are down to only one district all the time now. Anet are slowly running the game down for when GW2 comes out and expect you to part with your hard earned bucks again.
UnChosen
Really? I think its the opposite. Every dungeon outposts are now virtually ghost towns. ToA doesn't seem to have nearly as many people during time I'm on (evening). DoA is even more empty than usual.
If there are any place where there maybe more people its spamming towns, Rata Sum, and Longeye's Ledge.

Lions Arch has had 4-5 Districts over the past few days although I've noticed a lot less people selling stuff in Kamadan, not sure what to make of that, maybe new players are looking forward to GW2 and want to try the original GW first, your guess is as good as mine
Spiritz
Hard to say - i did wonder 2 weeks ago when i was mod hunting why i wasnt able for a gd 30 mins to get in ae d1 at kamadan as i kept getting district is full message - never seen it like that outside of an event before.
Could be players are now playing the game and having to work thru instead of being ran everywhere or going for titles - we`ll probably never know ( or a bot invasion lol ) .

I spent the majority of my day yesterday working on my cartography title in Prophecies. With the exception of Aug. Rock, I never saw more than 2-3 blue dots in any town or outpost. Fair to mention I didn't visit ToA or L.A.
