Olias Hero Quest?
Snowcloud
Hey, I have a prophecies character and recently did the quest to travel to nightfall to unlock some heroes. I read I needed to do certain quests to get to consulate docks for dinja to give me the olias quest. I did them, but dinja does not offer any quests.
I did some looking around on wiki and there's a part that says only nightfall created characters can get the olias quest, is this true?

No, it is not true. Are you sure you don't already have the required quest?

I don't have the quest, dinja never had a quest marker and hasn't offered anything. Here's the link of the wiki page I looked at.

If you scroll all the way to the bottom it says this:
"The page states that you must be a Nightfall character to obtain this quest"
Also, these are the quests I did, maybe I missed something,
Battle Preparations > Securing Champion's Dawn > A Land of Heroes > The Time is Nigh

Yeah the quest 'All for One and One for Justice' is under Kryta Quests in your quest log I think, check there. You get the quest from Dinja, but you do the quest in Lion's Arch.
Edit: you don't have to be a nightfall character to get this quest, I've done this on multiple prophecies and factions characters. You just need to have the prophecies and nightfall campaigns on the same account.

The only requirement for the quest is having Nightfall and Prophecies linked to the account. There is a note on the wiki quest page that says if you've taken the quest "Gain Olias," you won't be able to get the "All for One..." quest. I don't think that's the problem, since that quest was deleted a long time ago.
In the spirit of exploring all possibilities: Did you already do it without realizing it?
Voodoo Rage
You definitely get the quest and consulate docks and there a no requirements to get it, as I have had low level characters ferried there to get the quest. Make sure the quest isn't already in your log (All for one and one for justice). The next guy you talk to is Lionguard Figo in Lion's Arch (he's waaaay down in the southwest corner on the pier). I suspect you might have the quest active already.

You must first complete the quest path reserved for non-Nightfall characters, then you'll have access to the Consulate Docks.
I mean the quests: "Battle preparations" > "Securing Champion's Dawn" > "A Land of Heroes" > "The time is nigh" > "Consulate docks (mission)"
Then speak with Dinja to obtain the quest "All for one an one for justice".
Return to Lion's Arch and speak with Lionguard Figo, he will teleport you to the location where Olias stands.

Of course, it is reserved for Prophecies characters if you complete the "Sunspears in Kryta" quest (not for all non-Nightfall chars).
edit:
Wrong: Alternatively you can reach first Cantha, in this case you have already unlocked the Consulate Docks.
Correct: Complete the primary quest The Time is Nigh to gain access to Consulate Docks. - see above

VooDoo Rage is correct, you only need to complete "The time is nigh" quest, then ends with you in consulate docks.. once you've handed the quest in you can go pick up the quest for Olias. You don't actually have to have completed the mission to get the quest.

It's true. After "The time is nigh" Consulate Docks will be unlocked

I was under the impression that you could get Olias just by getting a ferry to the Docks and LA (even on a brand new character). Maybe I am mistaken or they have changed it.
At least for a foreign character (Factions or Prophecies) the quest chain to get Time is Nigh is very short and easy (not even worth hanging around for a ferry).
One tip I have is that for the Land of Heroes quest, all you really have to do is clear the Corsair war camps on the beach (no need to capture the landing points or protect Kormir). Just run all the war around north of the cliffs and then enter down the ramp that takes you to the beach. Clear all the enemies on the beach and you are done.

Although for a NIGHTFALL character I think the shortcut is there. I am almost positive that I was running around with Olias prior to getting off the island via ferries.

I know you dont need to do consulate docks mission, but you need to get to it to obtain the quest to get olias.. I have 2 characters who have yet to do consulate docks and HAVE olias (no ferry either). So you either need to get the ferry or do the quest chain UP TO consulate docks, as the quest giver is in that outpost.
BrettM
All you need is to have access to the Consulate Docks outpost and Lion's Arch. You can get to those places by ferry, without following the story line. If you do follow the storyline, you most certainly do not have to do the Consulate Docks mission before gaining Olias. Several posters have said this, and you are doing nobody a service by continuing to repost the same misinformation.

Before the February 14, 2007 update you could unlock Olias with the "Gain Olias" quest, that was replaced with the quest chain I've posted above.

Nobody is saying that you don't need to get to docks to get the olias quest, however, completing the consulate docks mission is not required for that (nor is taking reward for the "time is nigh" quest)

I'm missing something... Where did you get the ferry?

I've already corrected my previous answer. Infact, in order to unlock Consulate Docks, there is no need to finish the quest nor complete the mission

I meant the kamadan-consulate docks ferry. I can't claim for sure it would let a proph char take that quest, but it works with faction chars, which are considered foreign in nf in the same way.
EDIT: I mean, the ferrying ofc works for every kind of char, I'm referring to getting the olias quest. (guh, my english is bad, hope it makes sense).
This is not contraddicting anything you said, but merely pointing out that the statement "there is no shortcut" is probably false.

To get olias you need:
access to consulate docks that is all, for prophecies as well as factions characters.
HOW you get to consulate docks is up to you, ferry or quest line....
I currently have a prophecies character as well as a factions character who have not done consulate docks and have olias, and seeing as the account they are on is only 3 months old, it would be after they changed the original quest.

1. I have taken both Prophecies and Factions characters to Consulate Docks and unlocked Olias as a hero. I am speaking in this post strictly about these FOREIGN characters.
2. My FOREIGN characters could either follow the storyline for FOREIGN characters to reach Consulate Docks, or they could get a ferry to Consulate Docks without doing the storyline. Either method allows FOREIGN characters to enter that outpost.
3. Upon arrival in Consulate Docks, regardless of how they got there, my FOREIGN characters could immediately take the quest to gain Olias. They did not have to accept the reward for "The Time is Nigh" (if they had done the storyline) and did not have to do the Consulate Docks mission. In fact, I have several FOREIGN characters who have Olias but still have not done that mission.

Actually, if you have a Nightfall and Prophecies product key linked to the same account you can unlock Olias.
