Tyrian Cartographer LOST

I`m missing this part of the Tyrian map and i think that this is some part of the Ascalon Random Arena. I`m a 20 lvl character that cannot access this arena. Is there a trick that can let me view this part of the map. As you can see i`m asking about the area with the red dot in it. Below it there is a gray square that cannot be viewed - is this right or wrong? There are some edges in the text mod that look like that and i think that they can`t be viewed.

Textmod is lame, but more importantly there is oodles of extra map to explore in Tyria so even if you can't get Ascalon Arena (and I didn't) then you should be fine for Cartographer (top tips being The Wilds and Dunes of Despair missions). So less panicked CAPS plz

You can't get the arena.

I think you can't get that square either.


I did full Tyria on my Monk (which is banned now, so I can't double check for you), and there are some glitch spots which can't be uncovered. There also is way more spots, though, which can be uncovered, but are not shown by Texmod. Especially portal glitches and wall hugging gives you about 1 or 2 "black spots" per zone.

You could try jumping past the portal from Old Ascalon to Ascalon City with Heart of Shadow or Viper's Defense to see if the door to the arena is open for you to walk inside. Other than that, I'm not sure what you can do.

If you've got this problem, you'll likely have another problem with the arena out of Yak's Bend.

Nope it seems that i was in that Arena when i was low-level, because in the Shiverpeaks are only a few spots left to discover. I have heard about that shadowsteping and it seems that i`ll try it. I`m mad as Tony Shalhoub`s character MONK and i want to make the things my way. So if i don`t have that area discovered it will always catch my eye. I CAN`T STAND IT.

there's lots of little bits texmod doesn't let you know about

I can't remember all offhand but i know theres some on top edge of mineral springs, quite a bit in desert.

Just wall hug the edges, you'll get there eventually.

Like posters above have said. You can max cathographer without the arena. See wiki for details on hidden areas. Best advicd I can give you is scrape scrape scrape.....and dont use speedskills while scraping; because lag/ rubberbanding will negatively affect the net result.

Be that as it may, it doesn't mean you shouldn't help anyway, "Killed u man"...


As others have stated, you aren't going to be able to get those spots, unfortunately. (Unless you get very lucky scraping).

In any case - Texmod Cartography shows more than 100%. You don't need every single spot (unless you're OCD), so missing those won't hinder your progress too much.

This version of texmod was made with a level 20 tyrian character. No pvp arenas were entered, so you shouldn't need to actually enter the battles, just the arena outpost itself. Besides, there's enough leeway to leave off huge chunks and still get 100%. One of my test characters hit GMC without mapping hell's precipice, so you don't need to hit every pixel.

Actually getting of Grand Master Cartographer, we've 5% more allowance available. Its 100.5% including all Arenas which is some of Arenas are now not anymore accessible... I forgot the website GWForum which I research for my Cartographer Title in TYRIA... But someone did it at 100.5% completely filled the map.

So, you should'nt need to go in Arenas able to get 100% GMaster Cartographer. just check the ledges of the map, all towns, all mission maps and explorable areas... jus make it SURE 100% filled up all areas...

I'd be willing to bet there's even more than .5% extra... don't worry about spots like that guy. If you've done a good job overall, you can afford some fairly significant blank spots in several areas.

Directly answering your question though, no, I don't think either of those are possible to get in your case.

you can get the corner by the screenshot I have below, it popped when I hit the spot I am standing on.



(I just went to that corner with a newer character who had not mapped there except for the monument).
