Ports to open

So Guild Wars has always been my laggiest game, and I never knew why.
Then someone told me to check out if I have the right ports opened for it, never thought of that yet...
So the network I have set up has games on lowest priority unless the port is opened so that pretty much sums up why I lag so badly in this game.

So can tell me which ports I need to open for this game?

Additionally: If you run software such as peerguardian2, you will need to "Allow" guild wars IP ranges. The following is needed for that.

63.115.68.0 - 63.115.68.255
64.25.32.0 - 64.25.47.255
206.127.144.0 - 206.127.159.255
209.120.141.240 - 209.120.141.255
209.120.218.32 - 209.120.218.47
216.107.240.0 - 216.107.255.255

(Note: The above were my own findings, they are probably not as tight as they could be to keep out other traffic while allowing GW. They are just a guideline and what I personally use.)

Alright, thanks a lot.
No further discussion is needed I guess.

Also Portforward is your friend in situations like this.

Just select the router and game you need configurations for and it will give you a step by step guide to opening the needed ports.

Alright, this port turns out to be the exact same port that Star Craft uses which I have already had set as a high priority.
So there is no improvement.
I'm just guessing it's my internet service, but it's so strange that Guild Wars is the only game I have that lags.

OK, if that didnt help any, then the next question would be: Are you ona Wireless LAN connection to your router and what is your LAN hardware?

I found that GW lagged like mad while I was on my old Linksys WLAN router. The only way I managed to fix it in the end (after countless updates and Firmware changes) was take a really big hammer, smash the router and buy a powerline network.

My desktop computer which I play my games on is hooked up via a cable, so no wireless here. Well, there is wireless but I'm not using it. I wonder what's wrong with my network...

My issue is that this is an ongoing problem that happens regardless of time. If the servers are lagging at a particular time, I just lag more than before. At any other time, my average ping is 190-3800 ms (yes, the thousands) which is incredibly frustrating sometimes, especially when it comes down to interrupting.
