I managed to log in with my charr that was in GH, then changed to GToB International district, no lags Hope this will help you.

According to net ops, it looks like the issue was (as indicated by the error codes) a issue with internet traffic between data centers. I'm sorry that you're having these connection issues. They're continuing to look into the issues.

Mine seems to have cleared up, i havn't been getting lagg, just 013's when changing characters and 007 freezes earlier (which caused my survivor to go boom).

Seriously though, I find it so strange that running two accounts on one computer can give two totally different results - 1 straight in with no problem, the other getting 058 not connecting and then intense lag once in.

Duude, this is killer. 6 digit pings and FA games where only half the team loads. And when I do get in a game, I can't cast a f--in thing and can only watch while everyone runs around me and my skillbar flashes.

over 100k ping here.. i can move around and i cna talk but it doesnt go through for about 2 mins. I also cant leave my guild hal on any of my characters( i leave my characters in the guild hall every night just in case lol) i cant leave w/out getitng a code 40 when i try and load.. so its dominated by lag and i cnat leave my gh.. same seems to be happening to my allaince( KISS bigest alalicne in guild wars and half at least cant even play atm).
plz fix this anet.. i acctually want to play on my spring break beleive it or not -.-.

I am aware that the situation is not a pleasant one, and I am truly sorry that you cannot play at the moment - but there is nothing we (as in we Community Manager) can do about it apart from keeping in touch with the NOC and keeping you updated once we get new information from them.
So bear with us, as soon as we hear something new, we will immediately let you know.

I guess you dont play many games online - IMO anet do an above average job of keeping their servers up and working with decent connection with minimal service interuption. I just wish my cable provider could be anywhere close to being that good!

Yes it is true that on some events we get insane lag, but its an event and things just might get quite busy, but on normal service anet has done fantastic imo, the ammount of downtime that guild wars has is very rare. even servers and networks go mad sometimes, and you cant really blame anet for it, because it happens everywhere.

I think right now the Team has somethin better to do than update the Server news. It seems to be a pretty big Problem. All servers pretty much down for over three hours! This is exceptionally long for any IT-problem.

I'm not sure they ever update the network section of their website, as over the past 5 years I can only think of one time the servers were down for more than 5 minutes. That day is consequently the day guildwarsguru achieved the most members on the forums at one time.

Be patient, regardless of anything else, they've definitely earned that for their near perfect uptime on their servers.

network news are for planned maintenance or after fix reports of emergencies.
today we can't play, servers are down or horribly laggy
but there are never roll back* or crappy things like items losses or whatever happen in some other games
just hope next month will be free

Fantastic is not a word I use when describing a game connection. Above average is a good thing. They are not the best I have experienced but are certainly above most - hence above average ... if you prefer then in the upper quartile

@highway: geez, chill. They know there is a problem, and they have said they are working on fixing it, and last I checked server issues for any game aren't exactly fixed by flipping a switch (unless it is to shut the game down entirely) so patience. No need to bite someones head off.
And also as others have pointed out, this is a rare occurrence.

You need just to avoid euro district to dodge most of the lag.

I'm getting a (seemingly neverending) background download going on. It went up to 400mB, but is either only giving me a file-by-file total or is starting over every few minutes. I think it's been at it for about a half an hour now.
