Sorry if this isn't the right forum to post on - I wasn't sure.
My desktop computer recently got bugged, so I thought I would just install Guild Wars on my laptop until I could get my desktop fixed. I tried installing GW from both the CD that came with the game, and directly from the Guild Wars website. When I run the setup, I see the grey window that normally comes up as soon as you start Guild Wars (not full-screen, you update progress on here), and it says "Connecting to ArenaNet...". There was a little dark grey bar at the bottom, and as soon as it reached about 75%, it would stay there for a while, and move back down to around 60%, and just go back to 75%, and continue doing this. I left it going for several hours, yet nothing happened. Is there anything I could do to fix this?
I am running Windows Vista, btw.

Off hand, the first thing that comes to mind is Firewall/AV/Malware - make sure GW is allowed through any firewall or anti-virus or anti-malware programs on the laptop. You can simply disable the programs to see if it then works, and then, if they are the problem, find out which one it is and what you need to set to let GW through.

It is always best to just download the client no need to use the disks and then let it install.I would do it this way as clean install.
